What kind do discount do AON give for the full licence? Just got notification of my tests date today. Doing the test the week before my insurance is up! Have to get some lessons done now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,294 ✭✭✭Pigeon Reaper

I'd almost be tempted to get the Vulcan with that insurance.

CN refunded me around €300 EUR when I got my full license. They quoted me around €1600 EUR on a provisional for my Bandit and when I called back a few weeks later to say I had my full A license it dropped to around €1300 EUR...

And now, with 1 year NCB (15%), they quoted me €1250 EUR! Not very good at maths then...

Ok, I've just renewed my insurance with Quinn-Direct and I'm delighted to announce I went Fully Comp! :D

Indeed, TPO was around €715 EUR, TP-F&T was around €850 EUR and Fully Comp. was around €1050 EUR. Decided to go with Fully Comp. as a result but because I'm not paying everything at once it's costing me around €1120 EUR.

Still! Not bad considering CN wanted €1240 EUR for TPO!!!

So I'll be Fully Comp. from the 1st of July and I'm really chuffed about that! :D

Hey Steffano, glad your insurance has come down. AFAIK NCB is 10% per annum and is limited to I think, 5 years. But provisional licence means a loading/extra 35%.

They start with the bike's grouping and rider's age and use a basic price for insurance. Provisional licence, that'll be +35%. 3 yrs NCB means 30% discount. Additional training 25%. Membership of a club, 5%.

And probably some discretionary discount as well to get the business.

Oups, my bad... Checked again and it's 15% for 1 year NCB.

Still, if it was €1300 EUR last year and €1240 EUR this year, it's not exactly 15%!

    CBR250R(1992) CN - 379 AON - 420 and Quinn - about 680 but can't remember the exact figure.

I ask AON about a CBR600RR and it was 841 which I might go for next year as it should drop a bit more

My AON figures included having insurance on a car and all are TPFT

Don't mind that. They told me the same. Tell them you've bought it and they'll change their tune.

quinn is your only hope man, the others wont touch you... nice bike to start on by the way... (as long as you didn't mean to write cbr lol) you should search for people who will do a Quinn Insurance Assessment in your area and try do that, it will bring insurance down big time.
