Foldable Catio? Advice?

    Hi there everybody,

So I'm looking for a bit of advice. My lovely Russian Blue is indoors only however, I would like him to enjoy some outdoor space as well whilst not being free to roam.

We live in a rented house and so it's not possible to drill into the exterior walls. Ideally, I'd love something that could be propped up over the window (from the ground to above the window that the cat could go out to. That seems unlikely from my googling however.

I also thought about large dog kennels in the garden for him to sunbathe outside a bit, or a sort of enclosed pet cage (like a massive rabbit hutch but all mesh.(can you see that I have no clue exactly what i need?!).

I'm absolutely useless at DIY alltogether so I'm looking for something that I can buy and that doesn't need to be secured to a wall.

Any ideas anybody? I don't have a huge garden, so can't be too grand!

Sorry for rambling on. To apologise, i've attached a picture of my baby! :)

Thanks Alun! He is a beauty alright...when he's not being a little bugger! :D Everyone thinks I'm turning into a crazy cat man as I talk about him so much but it's my first of this breed and well, i adore them! If you're ever interested, there's a fantastic breeder in Cork! :)

Yes, something like that, ideally foldable would be perfect. This is the closest to my imaginary vision I'm yet to see. Thanks a lot!

    Ooh, something like this? http://catbitats.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Kitty-playground-catbitat-0201.jpg

Would you be able to use cable ties to fasten it to something? I personally wouldn't trust anything that wasn't secured in some way, especially with a cat.

Ooh, indeed! :) I love it. Cable ties wouldn't be an issue at all. Even a sneaky little one screw or so would be fine but nothing that would be too obvious. I love that one you sent. It's purely just to let him get a little fresh air each day.

    What an amazing cat...

May I respectfully suggest that you test any run carefully indoors first? I have a cat who can open most windows, many doors and all known pet carriers.

When I moved house last, he was secured in a good cat carrier but before we had gone three miles was loose in the car and I dared not leave my seat after that.

Wonderful idea though unless your cat is a Houdini...

I have no advice either although the one von vix shared looks very cool. I might consider something like that myself.

Anyway I really just wanted to say.. wow! Your cat is gorgeous!
