Why are some lads in school proud of 'procastination'?

before anyone says 'oh you're generalizing teenagers!', I'm a young person myself and I have done the same thing. I also realize that it may be a sizeable minority not just among lads but girls as well, but a noticeable one nevertheless.

It seems that when a lot of guys talk about struggling with studying, there's almost a sense of 'pride' in procastinating till the last week for exams and setting yourself up for a high risk of failure

It's not that people bully nerds or don't like being nerds, it just seems much funnier to hear that in a group of lads, the worst is one who is beginning to study seriously for HL Maths at the middle of May

Seriously though, your friends are all just trying to impress one another and secretly they're all bricking it.

I'd only do it in my spare time myself and I keep putting it off at that. More of an amateurcrastinator really

    Bragging.

"I'm so good, I only need to study the last two weeks and I'll giving straight-A everything."
"Two weeks? I'll do it in ten days!"
    "Eight."

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

What a bloody dreadful system, why are we determined to make young people hate learning and completely bored out of their minds! Our educational system badly needs an overhaul

Let's face it, it's not the easiest word to spell. Or to pronounce. So if they mastered that, it is something to be proud of.
