Somebody I know started working in a restaurant recently and gave N26 as his bank for wages.
He has been told that the wages keep bouncing back to them. Anybody experienced this before and know how to fix it?

Probably trying to send it through as an Irish bank, had the same in my job wouldn't accept anything more than an Irish bank as their systems couldn't do it.

If this is more a manual transfer (small business?) then they probably need to do it as an international transfer - think someone mentioned it earlier in the thread it was the only way to do a transfer to N26

It's say either of the following:
    - the employer got the IBAN number wrong
    - the employer's pay system doesn't fully support SEPA transfers or is not setup properly to execute a transfer to N26
    - the employer's bank has a problem

In any case, nothing your friend can do themselves it fix it. Problem is that as an employee it might be a bit ackward to ask for that, but essentially they should probably have their employer check those things in that order.

I've had the N26 debit card for about 10 months now and so far all has been fine. The only problem I find is the sometimes being stuck for cashback. But not supporting the 'pillar banks' is a great feeling. Do people think they will ever offer cashback? I have paid for someone's petrol and they just give me the cash.

I find the cash26 works fine the few times I tried it out. But these days I don't use cash and just avoid places that don't take card.

I'm confused, I've definitely gotten cash back on my N26 card in several pubs.

Probably because they manually enter the amount and charge you, not like in most shops where it sends the amount to the machine and can't be changed

Likewise, but they're putting it through as a purchase rather than cashback. As it's a win-win, it makes sense for then to do so.

Why is it win-win? If they put it as a purchase then they're being charged a fee...

Win-win in that they're facilitating a customer who's then more likely to stick around and purchase more. They are charged a fee but at the same time it reduces the cash that they're stuck with at the end of the night.

N26 say they accept a 'national ID' for Ireland.
Anyone know what this ID is, AgeCard? PSC?

Yes we don’t have national ID cards, so I guess they mean passport cards.

The only other thing we have which has some similarities to a national ID card is the public services card. But I doubt that’s what them mean.

They took that over from IDNOW who is the service provider and who has the same information spread to all companies who use their service.

The confusion is that most EU countries have some sort of national ID card and the passport card looks like other countries national id cards. Giving the security features of the passport card are up to the standard they just treat it as id card to avoid having another option in their system.

Could anyone tell me why I can't pay for something over the phone to a shop in northern Ireland in sterling?
Shop is saying it says invalid card.

Can any Irish N26 users confirm whether this term deposit functionality is available: https://n26.com/savings/

Where the hell did you find their phone number?

They've made it 100% impossible to contact them. Couldn't find any information in the app.

And does anybody know where to find the live chat option?

I'll be doing a bit of backpacking and will have my 26 card. For each country I'm in I'll buy a new Sim card.

Will this cause any issues with my n26 app?

It shouldn't no. I've used my N26 app with foreign sims without issue.

Does any know if you can get a second card attached to the same account, similar to Revolut? Is there an option to order within the app when you have the account? Isn't mentioned anywhere from what I can see...

They don't offer joint accounts at the mo - so that would be a no
