Amazon Prime - 2 day delivery promise complaint

Is anyone else finding that Amazon is missing their 2 day delivery target for prime members?

I remember signing up to Prime last year with the promise of anything sold and dispatched by Amazon being delivered within 2 working days. I have placed over 20 orders in the last 8 months and only 3 of them have been delivered within 2 working days, most took between 4 and 5 working days to arrive. Now I can understand November and December being hectic and to be honest its down to the courier companies to deliver the merchandise but Amazon shouldnt be making commitments if they cannot stick to them.

Free super saver delivery was as quick (slow) as this.

The last couple of weeks I have been placing orders on Friday and receiving them Monday morning, so no problems here.

From Black Friday in November and on into January things went haywire, I think the weather caused a problem.

I remember one of the couriers saying something a storm held packages vack in the UK and then all of a sudden there was a backlog of a million packages or something.

To be honest I think Prime causes a lot of this problem, as some of the items I order are ridiculous and most of the time they come separate. I ordered standard duracell batteries at Xmas, Aa, Aaa, c, d, they all came on separate packages and I think they must have been airmailed to me I got some of them so fast? How does it even make sense for them to be selling that type of thing, and they were still cheaper than buying local.

I placed an order at 8am on Monday morning and it still has not despatched and Amazon are giving an estimated delivery date of Friday.

When that happens to me I grin rub my hands together, get on to Amazons web chat and get another free month of Prime :D

Edit> I noticed that there are a mounting number of prime items that are "Longer delivery than typical Prime items". You have to read all the text in the price box at the top left of the screen and its easy to miss.

Yep, I've got at least 4 free months and a couple of £5 credits
