Nimbyism strikes again as residents say no to sewage plant. This inspite of raw effluent being let off into the Irish sea.

Not every town wants to smell like Leixlip.

Maybe it's because EVERYTHING is getting shoved into North County Dublin?

Just like Ballealy dump, supposed to be only open for a few years, what started as a hole in the ground is now a mountain, was always nice to get the train into the city and witness the sea waves lapping up against it...

I was momentarily enraged, reading this, but you're right - it stinks. :(

It really is a shame they didn’t put the treatment plant in Celbridge.

Leixlip is a nice spot, just gets a little eye-watering if you end up downwind of that stench.

From some of the “posters” on AH you’d swear the place was a ghetto that would make Detroit or South Central LA look like safe spaces for snowflake millennials.

can a facility built for swishing hundreds of thousands of liquid turds around really be classed in the same category as other 'normal' nimbyism.

like, a cycle path or a dual carriageway or a wind turbine, maybe thats nimbyism.

but the collective stench of the greater dublin areas bungholes is kind of different.

let the first sewage treatment plant fan step forward.

It's better in North County Dublin than in the sea, isn't it?
