Emergency Tax after Changing Jobs

I recently changed jobs. I ceased my old job on the online Revenue service before I received my last paycheck from them, and as a result was emergency taxed on the last pay I received from them.

When I registered my new job on the online service, it didn't fully register until a few days afterwards, and as a result was emergency taxed again.

However, my tax for the new job has since been sorted and I received a refund of the emergency tax the following week. But I am still owed €79 from my last pay in the old job.

I understand that I will have to wait until next year to submit a tax review online and receive the refund back, but I am just wondering..... how exactly do I do this?

    Thanks :)

Up to now you could request a P21 after the year end and that would sort it or alternatively file an eF12 tax return.
With PAYE modernisation Revenue have indicated that they will do a preliminary review in January and a statement will be available in MyAccount towards end of the month. Any +/- from what data they have will show on that. You will still be able to file amendments for such as Medical etc. after that anyways.

If that's the case, do I have to do anything to request a refund of the over-payment? Or do you get it back automatically?

I'm not sure what form the new interface for that will be yet just they have said they will be doing a provisional 2019 statement for all PAYE employees in JAnuary 2020. But after 31/12/19 if there is an option to still request a P21 (Balancing Statement) then you can click that and it will process any +/- for the year. There will still be an option to file an eForm12 anyway also which you can do including anything else that might be relevant and that would process any +/- also.
