Ford Mondeo 2016 model questiones

    Hi,

I bought a new mondeo, new to me, which is a 2016 model.
One thing I bought for was a big boot, but I noticed on the one I picked up the boot seems smaller that my last car which an Insignia.

The boot itself is flat as there is a full size spare tire there. I can take out the tire and all parts, but then the boot floor mat doesn't fit.

    Anyone any thoughts on this?

Any other cool things a Mondeo can do. My last car was a 09 insignia, so my first decent car ....

    Mondeo boot is usually huge.

The boot, would it or should it be bigger?
Like should the boot floor be flat to the rear lip.

My insignia had about a 6 inch drop from boot lip to floor mat.

.is there other things a mondeo can do, just figured out you can open. All the windows with the lock buttons

That’s about the height of the excitement.

Ref the boot size, there’s usually a drop down inside the lip, the bottom of the rear seat is a few inches higher than the boot floor so maybe yours has a full size spare wheel or something if the floor is raised up.

Yeah, full size spare wheel. I might ask the garage as it makes the boot smaller.

No other fun bits. Starting to think I should have gotten a Mazda 6

Yes it does, there’s an insert that brings the level of the carpet up to compensate for the wider wheel. Standard was a space saver wheel, they moved to no wheel at all after that.

No you shouldn't, the mazda 6 sky active engine is a nightmare.

Golf R? When compared to a Mondeo or Insignia?

If he was looking at a Focus maybe.

Mazda 6 estate is 3 LTRs smaller seats in place. The Mazda is also noisier. I found it unbearably noisey for a car in that class. Apparently Mazda made some changes to make it quieter a couple of years ago. Not tried it since.

The fun bits depend on the spec you bought? A titanium X will have a few nice fun bits

Power so much power, who needs a boot....

Mondeo boot is considerably bigger than a passet, and in a like for like engine be probably livelier too. Get a slim spare wheel from a breaker and drop the mat. It is more than a match for the insignia boot also.
