Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Seem to be rolling out quickly. Know a lot around my age who have them this weekend and some already had them. A friend has to cancel their appt tomorrow and was rescheduled for Monday. Have to say the system is working well.

Has anyone else gotten the Janssen vaccine and had side effects? I’m on day 2 post vaccine and couldn’t sleep the first night due to nausea/chills, combined with really severe stomach/back ache. Thankfully, the chills and stomach ache have now disappeared but still feel a bit nauseous and have a bit of back ache again. Anyone else in the same position and also, any idea how long these symptoms last? I have a couple of friends who also seem to be experiencing the same as me, one got theirs a week ago and still has terrible aches

Citywest seems to have moved leaps and bounds compared to a week ago, when there were still lots of late 30s/early 40s people waiting.

Didn't get a text for an appointment, but I did manage to get the first Pfizer vaccine with my local pharmacy. Registered with them on June 7th got and appointment on June 9th.

Its definitely worth following all your local pharmacies on Facebook and contacting them as soon as they confirm that they have the vaccine available.

The HSE portal says that I am still 'Awaiting appointment 1'

Age: 36. First jab received 13th July - almost 4 weeks after registering. Live in Kildare and went to Citywest. Got Pfizer. Only symptom is sore arm.

Well, himself finally got his second jab scheduled for later on today, 5 weeks and one day after the first one in the Helix. Looks like they are finally catching up with the early 40s backlog in north Dublin. Does anyone know if the Swords centre has more capacity than the Helix, or how does it compare (apart from being a public transport nightmare)? He got the text a week in advance, which was great, I have to say.

It's a real pity they don't run a little shuttle bus from the airport. Lots of PT options there.

Took nearly 3 weeks to get the appointment text. I'm down on hols in Cork that week and worried about rescheduling in case it takes another 2 or 3 weeks? Might take a few hours to travel up, get the vaccine then head back down to Cork.

Got my second appointment today. Age 42.

    1st: 22nd June

    2nd: 17th July

    25 days between two jabs.

It's about the same size, 5K with 50 booths. Public transport is all the airport buses and it's 5 minutes walk from there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,033 ✭✭✭Brian CivilEng

Bit further than a 5min walk from the airport unfortunately, more like 20mins. If coming by bus from town best get off at The Coachman's, 41, 41B, 41C, 41D or 33, cross at the pedestrian crossing then go in via Stockhole lane. Take around 10-15mins. Not a nice walk last time I was out there, but hopefully they have fenced off a pedestrian route for the vaccination centre.

2 J&Js done in the pharmacy last week,

1 got second Pfizer in the GP last week.

1 got first Pfizer in MVC last week.

    All looking good now!

    Next Friday 23rd July.

QQ for people that got jabbed at the Aviva... what are the queue times like? I suffer from a mild tear on my gluteus so a bit worried about long queues..I might be able to manage 30-40min.

Age 36 got the Pfizer back in April. Had to travel 30 mins by car to get it though. Exactly 4 week to the day later I received the second dose so I have been fully vaccinated for quite some time now.

There has been a batch of appointments sent today for people in their 30s in Dublin:

    Myself: 1987, 34yo

    Location: North Dublin

    Appointment received :15 / 07

    Appointment date: 21 / 07

    MVC : Swords

I declined the appointment because I have an appointment to the pharmacy for the 19/07. I sent "New" to push it back to a later date, hoping that my record would be updated in the meantime. A few hours later, it was rescheduled for the 17/07, so before the original appointment date. It looks like there are more slots available now.

2 colleagues in the same area also received their appointments today: one is 32yo, the other ones in the 30-34yo bracket as well.

Depends on the time. I had my first at the Aviva at 9am and was in and out in 30 mins, no problems parking either. My wife had her first one at 5pm and was waiting for 2 hours and had to park on the street as the car park was full.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,499 ✭✭✭✭Tauriel

Regarding the completion of consent and the medical questionnaire, I contacted the HSE to see if the glitch has been fixed and I was advised that if you felt more comfortable waiting to do them with your vaccinator on the day they have no issues with that.

Age 41 - I got my text for my second Pfizer jab for next Monday, exactly 4 weeks after the first. My wife is getting hers too, but no text. I checked the portal as we're the same age and had the same slot for the first shot, and there she was but still nothing via SMS.

Finally I got my text today, a number of us 35's are scratching our heads how <35's in the same area are scheduled earlier for the same Pfizer jab, Helix/Swords has been a shambles for the past month for so many people

Got 2nd AZ yesterday, 9 weeks after 1st.

  • Registered Users Posts: 59 ✭✭Eds

I'd say it varies hugely but I was in and out of the Aviva last Tuesday at lunch time in 20 minutes. No queue at all, didn't have to wait at any point.

  • Registered Users Posts: 114 ✭✭sushisushi

Himself is gone in the car, but the photos people were posting on Twitter of the road from the bus stop were Not Great. The Helix was a damn sight more accessible, that’s for sure.

Another data point - a friend in their early 60s got their second AZ jab in Croke Park today, 9 weeks after the first one, after much badgering and promises from the HSE helpline.
