Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    We're back

COVID-19 14-day incidence rates per 100,000 population by Local Electoral Area (LEA), Cork 15/06/2021 to 28/06/2021

Bandon-Kinsale - Confirmed Cases in LEA: 45, LEA rate per 100k pop: 121

Bantry-West Cork - Confirmed Cases in LEA: <5, LEA rate per 100k pop: <5

Carrigaline - Confirmed Cases in LEA: 20, LEA rate per 100k pop: 57

Cobh - Confirmed Cases in LEA: 6, LEA rate per 100k pop: 18

Cork City North East - Confirmed Cases in LEA: 18, LEA rate per 100k pop: 43

Cork City North West - Confirmed Cases in LEA: 15, LEA rate per 100k pop: 37

Cork City South Central - Confirmed Cases in LEA: 21, LEA rate per 100k pop: 54

Cork City South East - Confirmed Cases in LEA: 26, LEA rate per 100k pop: 61

Significantly higher rates in the county (explaining why Bandon had a pop-up test centre) than the city at the moment. Interesting.

Certainly seems to be a surge of vaccines in and around the city in the last 2 weeks. I only called my GP on Monday chancing my arm when I heard of other people my age being sorted. and got a call today to go in tomorrow. I had a friend choosing between Janssen and Pfizer appointments yesterday. All of the extended family now have been vaccinated or have appointments.

I didn't anticipate such a sudden change at all. Maybe I've stopped paying attention but I'm pleasantly surprised to get this vaccine so suddenly

The vaccination process seems to be run quite well, in my experience any way. The major problem only being the supply.

The booking process seems to work well, the vaccination procedure itself well run, and there seems to be a great willingness across all age-groups to get the vaccine.

It is a shame to see cases so high still and in hospital increasing, I know it is younger ages catching but still it could leave long term effects, they know to isolate stop the spread etc.,
