M+S; empty shelves as we can't get fresh produce from the UK into Ireland.

Cos we have no option but to as there's no local sangige makers, chicken producers, abattoirs, bakers, greengrocers, dairies, confectioners, water bottlers.......

This country established its own government – hopelessly imperfect though it may be – to serve and vindicate the needs of Irish people, first and foremost.

The electorate are a huge part of the problem. You put shite in, you get shite back.

A lot of everyday food products gone up in price or simply disappeared from the shelves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,402 ✭✭✭McGinniesta

Is this a vat or customs issue rather than Brexit or is there even a difference.

They should reverse Brexit missus. You should write a stern letter to Downing Street.

Those in the game mostly call them that though hearing it in yer man's plummy tones was a bit weird alright!

You can't bring in chilled meats which bans lots of stuff. Then if you are bringing in frozen meat, fish etc, there needs to be loads of vetinary declarations as to how the food was processed and traced etc.

Britain does more trade with the EU than with Ireland.

How are we the most affected country.

Me heart bleeds for M&S. These sort of supply problems were obvious from Day 1 following Brexit.

Also has to be said that Coveney and others were obsessed with the effects of Brexit on Northern Ireland. If they had spent a fraction of their time and energy on the needs of the businesses and citizens of the Republic, we'd all be in a better place.
