Blissfully overcast and cool in the fields of Athenry this morning, off to Inis Oirr later, should be pleasant.

Heading to bed shortly (sun lounger) as was working overnight. Already over 23°, closer to 24° in North kildare with calm conditions. Lots of cloud around this morning but it's all high based so partly to mostly cloudy sounds a lot worse than it is.

    Max of 24.1c in Arklow

The marine affect has permeated but strangely all week no sea breeze, despite the high temps in land

Its been here alright at 5kmh easterly at 30ft on top of the weather pole

The sea has been practically like glass too

Thats highly unusual on a sustained basis in this sort of spell

Another hot day in Kerry, slowly dropping now at 23.1C with a light breeze after a high of 28.4C recorded here near the coast, house still reading 27.5C with all windows open and fans on, phew!!

Partly cloudy morning in Greystones after a little rain earlier. Feeling fresh/autumnal! 13.8c atm.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,108 ✭✭✭highdef

Breezy day in North Kildare. Heavy shower midmorning, then sunny spells on and off until a heavy hail shower after lunch which then transitioned to about 40 minutes of prolonged rain. Sun is out again now, cell developing to my southwest which will go south of me. Large shower/area of rain is nearing from the northwest but it's a large area so expecting another prolonged episode of moderate rain. Temperatures quite low at time today, not much above 10° at times. Very autumnal feeling day.

a definite feel of mid April/October today with some very cool temperatures, blustery conditions and downpours. The sun is shining here but there isn't much heat in it today. The upper air temperatures currently over Ireland is very chilly for the time of year, infact the upper air temperatures over most of Greenland and certain parts of the North Pole is higher than Ireland at the moment.
