There have been a few prototype models around, but could this be the answer to the oil price problem in the future ? and the fcuk up they made on growing badly needed food for biofuels ?

    http://automobiles.honda.com/fcx-clarity/

Mods move to motors if applicable ?

Only glanced at it, but would there not be an issue with the huge hydrogen tank in the back of the car? Hydrogens not the safest of gases if I remember correctly

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

It would certainly make for some interesting car crashes!

Well I dunno ? When I think of Hydrogen I always think of the Hindenburg Airship blowing up, but I saw a documentary lately that showed they were using Powdered Aluminum in the silver paint on the skin of that airship, and that it had the same qualities as gunpowder, apparently, which made it flare up so quickly. They were playing down the danger of the Hydrogen in that instance.

I wonder is it any more volatile than petrol if sealed in a proper tank ?

Well the main reason they switched to helium is hydrogen was dangerous, as far as I know. I'm sure somebody out there knows for sure though

True, I guess if they ever become popular, ASH wont have to worry about anyone smoking in their cars, or tossing fag ends out the window :D

I'd love to see them take off (not in the literal sense) it would be a real kick in the goolies for the Oil Barons, and with only water coming out of the exhaust, it looks like everybody wins :)

Better to have a tank with a flammable liquid in the car instead.

All pure sh1te. Get a gas guzzler and drive it to fu*k. Get the car you want to get and forget about gimps that will tell you otherwise.

It would be far cheaper jigsaw:pac:

Just a normal day I think, of messageboard crimefighting. Good work that someone has to do.

 No need to implicate anyone else in your filthy crimes, Jigsaw, we all know you've played the bike thing long before we met.

That thread is far from over, just because it isn't in public view at the moment, does not mean its spirit isn't still alive here on Boards.

You are a more experienced Boardsie than me clearly. Do you have influence to have my thread of shame revealed once more for the amusement of the masses? I certainly hope not. I don't think you have but I may be wrong.

You see, you're wrong on one very major point. It's not your thread, once you hit that submit button it becomes the property of Boards.ie and the site can do whatever it likes with it.

It was probably the best thread of 2008 so far, a clear nominee for thread of the year. A bit of a clipping here and there and it could be in the right shape to be brought back into the public eye.

I know the score. The thread in question could be up in its entirety and I can do nothing about it. I just hope that it won't be be, because it makes me look like a tw@t. I think that is a perfectly reasonable conclusion to reach, don't you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,509 ✭✭✭Jigsaw

I'm quite happy for it to be thread of the year if I earn life changing money as a result. But I don't think that wil happen.

It's a funny thread, everyone had a laugh reading/writing in it and the only person who took it seriously was yourself. Lighten up.

If anything has damaged your image around here, it's been your reaction to it tbh. Not on the night itself but the following day.

Hey man don't get me wrong, I'm not cranky etc. I didn't think my image was damaged at all. I just knw that I posted crap i would not have otherwise have done.

Honestly I am not a kiljoy by any mreans.

They won't put it up without your consent from what I've read. Fair enough it may make you look like a twat jigsaw but if it goes up people will be laughing with you about it in a few weeks. At the moment people are wondering what's in the thread due to commotion. Maybe you should consider rising above what everyone thinks and allow a thread that is 'one of the best of 2008' back into the public for everyone else to enjoy? :)

Would you rise above something that makes you look like a knob? If so, biggerman than I.

Although part of me feels like, why give a f**king f*k.

Exactly. Once people have seen it and read it they'll move on. Until then its spirit is alive and well. Let it come back, take a slaggin for a few days then it'll disappear like every other thread.

Jigsaw for thread "creator" of the year! Seriously well done made my friday.
We have all done really stupid things while being under the influence of the alco!

But back onto this Thread the hydrogen car has being around the reason it hasn't being released yet is because they have not invented a way of getting it into the car yet, hydrogen stations like petrol stations, and also the long term storage is a problem too! But id say they haven't perfected the car/tank in it either.

Poor ol'saudi's must be s****ing themselves!
I hate to admit it but GM have being playing around with this for quite awhile.
Plus as the car will only produce water out the exhaust you could save the 3rd world, no more dangerous drinking water, no more drought!

Ah stuff the car! What we really need is the government to buy however many trampolines are needed to cover existing roads. It'd take you no time at all to get from A to B. Any practical problems can be easily ironed out e.g. crossroads.

I missed all that controversy on the jigsaw thread thing. I think it should be reopened and moved to the mods forum so I can have a squiz......
