Hi, Will be in East Cork at a wedding in early August, staying in a holiday home near Ladysbridge for 5 nights. Our first wedding anniversary falls at the end of the weekend. Would anyone recommend a nice hotel or restaurant where we could go for this night? Something a little different would be great.
    Thanks!

you are right beside Ballymaloe house, and there is also a nice place beside them call Barn na Brow. There is a new five star hotel in castle marytr could be good.

there are a couple of places in Ballycotton also, a new italian has just opened up there. In midleton a couple of good places, really like farmgate.

Raymond's restaurant near the Distillery in Midleton is a nice spot to dine or Thai Thanie on the main street (above Xtra vision) is a really nice place if you like Thai food.

Check out www.eastcorktourism.com,& www.irishtourist.com/directory/eating_out/southwest/cork/east_cork/midleton/ for more choice.

Ballymaloe is close to ladysbridge, They don't do an evening meal on a sunday though. The new capella hotel in castlemartyr is an idea if you have money to spend, has a spa and lovely grounds. Garryvoe hotel has also been revamped and there is a hotel in ballycotton that looks over the harbour, Seaview is the name I think.
    Wazzo.

La Cigna Negro in Ballycotton is to be recommended, food and wine are excellent and the setting is pleasent.
