'Other Channels' being lost

I've had some of the BBC channels (BBC1 London, CBeebies etc) added through the 'Other Channels' for quite some time.

I recently also added the FTA C4 channels and ITVs. Since then I've found that all the channels disappear shortly afterwards and I have to set them up repeatedly.

Is this an issue with my box (basic PACE Sky digibox) or something else? There haven't been any power interruptions or the like which occasionally have wiped the memory on the box before.

    Thanks

You are not the only person it has happened to recently.
That makes me suspect it is not simply a fault that arose coicidentally in several boxes.
It is possible that they vanished after a software update or that certain boxes have a firmware glitch.

It is even possible that Sky have some control over this function so perhaps even intentional.
If they can swich your box off there may be lots of BB stuff they can do.

Yep - they're being saved alright. If I come out of Add Channels and go into Other Channels they will be there and watchable. Come back some time later and they are gone. There is no set time for how long they last - sometimes they are gone in 10mins other times it can be a day or so before they disappear.

Actually now that you say it, I think I heard a rumour that this may be the case - something to do with Sky wanting to keep you on the EPG by making it as inconvenient as possible to watch anything else.

Anybody able to confirm or deny?

Anyone using the box can confirm that they make it far too bloody awkward - won't work in the EPG, won't add to favourites, etc.

Whether they'd stoop this low ? Not sure, but wouldn't put it past them.

Is your sky box a Pace DS430N? Check underneath for model number.
This model is known to have the problem of losing 'other channels' if you store over 8 channels. So stick with a maximum of 8 'other channels' and they won't disappear.

It happens to me when I store so many channels. I have a Pace box too.
