Rapid weight gain needed

    Hi.

I am roughly 5`8 to 5`9, and until recently had been around the 10.4 stone mark. I was on holiday in Oz, and as always happens on holiday I knew I would lose weight, what with constant drinking and occasional meal skipping. The last time I weighed myself there I was 10.1, which was to be expected, but in the space of 12 odd days I have went down to 9.2  I had been skipping a bit more in my final days, but what killed it must have been my final day. I ate my last meal on the Monday at 6pm, then went drinking. Arrived at the airport Tus afternoon expecting there to be a restaurant somewhere, but there wasnt! So essentially between (Oz times) 6pm Monday and 6pm Wednesday all I had was chicken and rice (no curry even in it, it was the only hot meal available in the coffeeshop in Syd airport) a lamb and veg dish on the plane that was mainly veg, a single burger in BK Singapore and finally got a proper meal of sausage, ham and chips in Heathrow a full two days after my last proper meal.

Im worried about how much my weight has declined, and I have never risen above the 10.5, essentially I was at a healthy wight and find it very hard to rise above that weight, I need to get back to at least 10 as soon as possible (Im talking about within a week, this sh1t is really making me nervous as all I need is one bout of flu, which is going around, and i could be in the 8 stones  ). Ive been gorging since I got back (Wed afternoon chipper, 8 fish fingers that night, Thurs night quarter pounder, hot dog and portion of cod, last night a full medium pizza from Dominos) Any tips on achieving this now?

For starters I'd read the stickies regarding Diet & Nutrition. Also did you weigh yourself at different times, eg just after eating or first thing in the morning? Weight will fluctuate once you've eaten and depening on whether you are dehydrated or not.

After that i think i'll leave this train wreck to someone more knowledgable

So many questions. You don't mention if you train at all? If you are on hols in a foreign country and drinking like a fish and skipping meals and eating junk your weight will be fluctuating a lot - water/hydration levels play a big part here. And I suspect you weren't all that hydrated in Oz.

Forget about the scales and stop eating crap unless you want to get fat. Have a read of the stickies and start eating lots of wholesome food for starters if you want to add weight. Do you lift weights?

I got glandular fever when I was a student. I went down to 6.5 stone.

I put the weight back on by eating healthily and regularly. One thing I noticed is that my body wanted to return to its normal weight, so I found it easy enough to bulk up.

Don't stuff yourself with junk food. That's just silly.

Here's what you can do -
    1. Have porridge for breakfast
    2. Make sure you get a proper evening meal
    3. Over the course of the day take in 3 litres of milk and eat at least half a tub of peanut butter, when you want is at your discretion.

That is guaranteed to put weight on you, and its healthy.

Crisis averted. I only dropped 1/3 stone.

Let this be a lesson to never trust poxy electronic scales :)
