    Mr. Soap,

Take a look at page four of this document and you shall find the info you require:

    http://www.athleticsireland.ie/content/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/Standards%202009%20Athletics%20Ireland.pdf

The AAI have been a little lax in posting the document under their website's competition statistics section, but they posted it in a news article in November.

Best of luck if you're seeking qualification.

F.Y.I: It's on in Tampere, Finland. You probably already know, though...

    ..

I notice the AAI website has another news release on EYOF today but I can't see anywhere a reference to eligibility age. Is that me or AAI another bit lax in communication?

Probably a bit of an oversight but I reckon most athletes close to selection probably know what the eligibile age group is already. What is it by the way - u17?

    Nope u18!

Only kids born in 1992 and 1993 are eligable

A good one born in 1994 with the standard will not be permitted to go

Thats a bit odd considring an athlete born in 1994 can compete at euro or world Juniors which is 2 age groups above youth!! Usain Bolt won a world junior title at that age! ha ha! I suppose any 1994 born athlete will be underage again for that competition in 2 years time.
