internet browser won't launch

    I am using windows xp, and have problem with internet browser.... saying page unavailable. My Skype and outlook express are fine so the broadband connection is ok. Anyone know how to fix this or could there be some software on my pc blocking it launch?:confused:

    Could well be. Are you using McAfee or Norton by any chance?

    Yes am using McAfee don't know how to disable it to check though!

    You're not alone with that issue then.

    Can you disable the McAfee Firewall & enable the Windows one just to see if it solves your issue?

    I had 2 machines last week with exactly the same issue & both were using McAfee. Both had expired too so I just used the McAfee removal tool & got rid all-together. The instant McAfee was removed Internet access was restored. I stuck AVG on then & all was well.

    Me & McAfee never saw eye to eye :p

    You're not alone with that issue then.

    Can you disable the McAfee Firewall & enable the Windows one just to see if it solves your issue?
