So there I am on my way home from work thinking deadly, in bed before the sun comes up in all it glory. But no, I had to run out of petrol instead.

Now I wish I had changed that Speed Sensor now. Basically the instrument cluster has been on the blink for a little while, so fuel guage is all over the shop and the speedo does nothing and the odometer doesn't even clock up.

At least I hope I have no fuel, that would be a simple fix.

Breakdown Assist are on there way as I speak anyway, god bless their cotton socks, I hope they bring fuel :)

    I'll keep you posted.

Had no fuel in the end, and I poured in about 5 litres what your man brought for me, started first go :)

I'm now safe at home with a nice cold can of beer, and the internet to keep me warm :)

I hate you. I hate anybody who runs out of petrol. I stopped for a woman once on a motorway exit and drove who to the nearest petrol station who proceeded to tell me its the 3rd time in 2 weeks she has run out of petrol.

I wanted to throw her out of my car right there and then.

This happened to me once. In my defence though it was in a 01 Merc E200 with a broken fuel guage that I had for a few days while my car was in the garage, and it drank petrol so was hard to judge anyway.

The girl in the AA had a laugh though when I made the phone call :p

Did the breakdown assist charge you for the fuel ?

You hate me because I ran out of fuel because I have a broken fuel guage. Yeah I see where your coming with that.

You only read the title of the thread, didn't you?

I ran out of petrol too. Gauage said it was nearly empty, but had driven for a good bit more on it on previous occasions. My clutch was slipping at the time too, so I thought it was the clutch totally giving up. It wasnt. Just petrol. Unfortunatley I was around a 35 minute walk from the nearest garage :(
