Recently Amazon gave the option of free delivery to Ireland.
Be alert when you check out to choose the free delivery option and you will save £4.88 already.

Also i noticed it is better to pay in £ and let your bank do the conversion to euros. Like many websites, Amazon is not giving the greatest exchange rate.

Yup, didnt notice the free super saver ... this is what it worked out as after applying that ...

    Items: GBP 55.65
    Postage & Packing: GBP 0.00

    Total before VAT: GBP 55.65
    VAT: GBP 11.97
    Order Total: GBP 67.62
    Payment Total: EUR 75,67

If you leave it in Sterling works out as 73.21 in Euro

But that assumes that your credit card company will give you the best exchange rate. Admittedly it'll be better than what Amazon offer but if the exchange rate takes a nose dive (unlikely) I think you'll get the rate at the time it hits your credit card. It's more likely that the Euro gets stronger against sterling at the moment so leaving it as sterling on Amazon is better.

That might work for items that are not in stock and therefore not shipped immediately.
If it is shipped and taken of your cc the same day as you order it, i still think it is better to have it paid in sterling.
The amount is too small to have a huge drop in price if the exchange rate changes a bit.

Yeah, it's only loose change really. Agree with you to pay in sterling on sites though as you will get a better rate from your cc company.

I got this drive, very happy with it. I'd only buy Seagate or Western Digital.

Just ordered two of these. I prefer keeping 2 separate backups of data, just in case.

just a note that these are reduced as a bus powered replacement has just been announced. (ie the same size drive that can be powered from USB directly, no external supply needed)

And the bus powered versions will probably be twice the price?? Still a great deal may pick up another!

they seem to be the one alright, I saw the quick test here:

I wasn't saying this wasn't a good deal, just giving a bit of extra info for an informed decision.
