Fucking twilight, it's a load of bollocks so it is. I mean goths or emos are bad enough (you live in a developed country, stop being a moody cunt and get over it, try living in Darfur or Afghanistan!) but this shite with vampires and adolescent muck is fucking ridiculous. Jaysus it must be the easiest market to tap into so it is, all you have to do is write a few a shite novels and Hollywood will get a few little bollocks' in to act out a shite script, show a bit of skin and there's your blockbuster!

    Other things which annoy me:
    Stupid hair styles,
Lads who can't seem to pull up their trousers so every other cunt has to see their boxers (either wear your clothes right or fuck off!),
    Anything related to the x-factor,
    Christmas advertising,
I-phones and phones with no buttons (touch screen shite).

Any reality TV show....xfactor, big brother....get a ****in life.

The constant recession talk on every radio and TV station.......its starting to realy piss me off now. Yes were ****ed but lets not hear about it constantly.

Stupid modern tossed hair styles on blokes who look like they've just woken up in a ditch.......or been dragged backwards through one.

Yes I agree that uglies should realise that nobody wants to see their saggy fat bodies. I wear jeggings but I can pull them off, I don't think a lot of other girls can. The rule should be that if and only if you have got it, flaunt it.

Wow, and apparently The X Factor is bad!

    That post was disgusting.

I would say that most people who hate it haven't read the books and just heard that "oh it's a movie/book about vampires and love" so it's obviously gay.

I don't really know to be honest. I've missed everyone talking about it but from my own experience if she isn't a troll she's....... something else.

Plus i'm a very well educated guy with a large vocabularilery but all of her posts seem to read like something from an essay.

It just seems somewhat ironic to me, that someone would give out about popular culture and then say something like "uglies should realise that nobody wants to see their saggy fat bodies."
The whole issue of weight has been huge in recent times. Size 0 debates, photoshopping models to look skinnier and as child-like as possible etc.

The "thin is in" mantra has made up a huge part of modern culture and dictated a lot of trends, certainly relating to fashion and appearance. So, to claim to be largely against, or skeptical of popular culture then come out with a comment like that is just ... laughable.

To stay OT, what I dislike about popular culture is people using social networking and viral media to spread unjustified hatred.

People who will take a dislike to pretty much anything and then use various mediums to just be pessimistic, critical and even abusive.

One big example I can think of is "Jedward" - John and Edward, from The X Factor. The amount of horrible text messages and Facebook "We hate Jedward" groups being created was disgusting.

It's an indication of a troubled society when we'd rather be bullying and negative towards something, or someone*, than show any signs of support or acceptance, in my opinion.

    * = obviously within reason. Some things/ideas/people don't deserve support or acceptance.

I see loads of people saying how x-factor and this twilight saga is so ****e etc etc, but yet no one has mentioned strictly come dancing or this jigs and reels tripe that is 'so popular'. Whatever about x-factor but strictly come dancing just takes the piss. Id sooner watch myself in the mirror taking a dump into the sink. I dont know why im doing this but here is the crap id like removed from tv.

    1. Strictly come dancing
    2. Im a 'celebrity' get me out of here
    3. X - Factor
    4. Britans got 'talent'
    5. Jigs and reels (i think thats what its called)
    6. Jordan
    7. That spastic weather man from tg4
    8. Them mingin lookin seoige sisters
    9. Jedward
    10. Jeremy Kyle
    11. Xpose
    12. The One show

    Yeah but, they're cunts.

    Yeah but, they're cunts.

They're young, teenage boys. It's more than pathetic of people - largely, grown adults - to be setting up hate groups to pick on them.

You can dislike something without being completely rude and disrespectful.

Really you think so. So what does it make me or others like? Half dumb?

So you'd argue it makes you more intelligent to watch big brother x-factor etc? I'm not saying it makes you anything. Just that the shows appeal to the lowest common denominator. A persons not dumb for watching it , but it is dumb TV, it can't be denied.

    Where's the fun in that?
Besides, Jedward deserves every bad bit of press they get, what else were they expecting when the walked onto x-factor with those retarded hair cuts and stupid looking clothes. Yeh the kids like them because they are kids, in 10 yrs time when they look back at it they will be like the new age vanilla ice, except not as cool.

Aye, I can't stand this obnoxious fad of that one hobo at the Luas machines, who varies from Abbey Street to Heuston with his crutch. There's just no getting away from it.

That would seem to be the logical conclusion alright.

Not looking for fight at all.

That Sarah one said some pretty crazy stuff and I'm just wondered why he said she's probably a 'northsider' .. logging in for a wind-up? Why a 'northsider'?

She has made several comments inferring that she is a D4 type and in particular, lampooned 'fat, saggy' bodies so in a instinctive flight of sarcastic fancy, I suggested that she may be a fat Northsider, that is, the polar opposite of the character she is portraying herself as.
