Checked Pirog out on youtube and this boy can fight. Very slick offensively. Quick, accurate punching and seems to fight very clever too. Seems to be very mature for someone with only 14 bouts behind him. He doesn't move his head nearly enough so hopefully Macklin can exploit that but I'd have this fight almost 50/50. Macklin maybe slight favourite. Should make for a great fight. Looking forward to it already.

    I posted this elsewhere.

been watchin all the Pirog fights I could find on youtube. But havent got round to the Jantuah fight which I hear was a wee cracker.

Pirog looks a quality operator. However, slightly predictable. Obviously a traditional pressure fighter, supremely fit and very good footwork - looks really well schooled but very really made any impression at amatuer level.

But like I say he does look a predictable and throws the same combinations. High muffler type guard and then switches to a "Mayweather type" cross guard when he feels comfortable, constantly bobbing and weaving his way in as he walks down the opponant. Loves to throw the double jab from the orthodox stance and then dips down to deliver a heavy right to the body but in doing drops his left to his chest and is open for the counter.

He's also got a mean left to the body which is half a hook and then he flows it up with a corkscrew left uppercut.

I'll be down for this and I've already had a couple of calls from lads from Clare that are coming over.

I dont think its 100% - Macklin picked up a cut against Pintos which didnt look like it was just a superficial nick so that might throw the date out a little also and then there is the potential Pavlik fight but thats just talk at the moment. Personally I hope the St Patricks Day fight comes off because I will be over there.

    Watched Pirog fight Jantuah
in his last fight i think Jantuah made Pirog look good he stood in front of him with his hands held high allowing Pirog to get off with a lot of shots although he got through with some good shots of his own in the later rounds Jantuah didnt really do very much Its very hard to judge a fighters metal until he is tested Pirog hasnt been tested on the other hand Matthew Macklin has but it doesnt mean that he will beat Pirog this fight will deffenitely be a test for Pirog and lets hope he doesnt have what it takes to beat Macklin as i am a fan of his and i do hope he goes on to be a world champion.
