Where can I get diesel injectors?

    Dear colleagues

I have a 2004 Megane 1.5 Diesel. The injector in cylinder 2 is going and I'd like to replace it. I've had the car looked at, put the computer on it etc.

I am being quoted €450 for a single injector. Yikes!!! Is there anywhere I can get one or a set a bit cheaper? I have tried google and ebay. Injectors for the 1.5 seem rare and google returns all those dodgy UK car spares sites that insist on all your information being entered and claiming they will text you back.

    Anyone with similar experiences?

    Thanks and happy Christmas

You can have it reconditioned instead.

would that be cheaper than €450, what does reconditioning involve? whod does it?

Google.ie will be your friend here.... "diesel injector reconditioning"....

    Choose "Pages from Ireland"

What part of the country are you in ?

Yesterday I got set of injectors (Bosch) checked for a common rail diesel Astra 1.7. Cost 25 euro per injector to get them checked. One was faulty, cost 140 euro for rebuild. Total including VAT 244 euro. Got them done at Diesel Injection Services, Cashel, Co. Tipp. Corry in Ardagh, Co. Longford, is supposed to be good also.

Note I had taken the injectors out myself, and will re-fit whenever I get bored in the next few days !

Thanks sean, I think we must have been posting at the same time. I am in Galway and will follow up on your guys. I wouldn't be the type do take out and refit injectors but have a mechanic who could.

So are we talking about giving your guys the four injectors or giving them the whole car? How long does it take ? a day or two perhaps?

I gave them the four injectors on Friday morning, collected them on Wednesday lunchtime. Under normal circumstances the turnaround would be more like a day or two, but they were mad busy just before Christmas, and has to wait for a part (nozzle) for the faulty injector.

I would expect that there would be someone doing injectors in the greater Galway area, but I don't know the trade up that side of the country. Galwaytt or some of the other Motors boardsies from the west might be able to help you.

You could send them by courier to Diesel Injection Services in Cashel and he will send them abck to you fairly quick. I owuldnt trust anyone else in the country with any diesel parts. Liam the chap who owns the place has written the whole feckin book when it comes to diesel problems!!!!
