Did you have the viewing card in when you did the forced download?

You only need the phoneline connected if you want to order box office movies etc or to access your account details using your remote control. However you may have availed of cheaper installation by having the phoneline connected so you are ment to keep it connected for a minimum of 12 months.

However if you have multiroom then you will need to keep it connected to the telephone forever.

I'd always recommend taking the card out when doing forced download

Thanks do you think Sky will ever drop this having to keep phone line connected as I don't have a phoneline so does this mean I am barred forever from getting multiroom?

For the time being anyway. Rumours of Sky bringing out a wifi box in the near future which will do away with the phone connection requirement for multiroom.
