All the makings of yet another terrible RTE show.

Peaches Geldof.. Who cares.. Where's the smilie/emoticon for vomit? This is a show to swerve if ever I saw one.

    TV License moeny well wasted.

**** you RTE for not making a good TV show in years.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,391 ✭✭✭✭mikom

My prediction is that the RTE sheep will copy The Graham Norton Show format with this one.
    We will see.

Brendan O Connor has about as much charisma as an iceberg lettuce. I don't hold out much hope for this series.

and that's just the tip of the iceberg, I predict carnage when the boardies strike this one

    Where's the smilie/emoticon for vomit?

    I think that this:

    :pac:~~

works very well in place of a vomit emoticon.

The very thought of this show makes me want to :pac:~~ .

First show and the best they can do is Peaches Geldof?

They are scraping the bottom of the barrel very early.

Does not bode well for future shows....

A thread up for 4 and a half hours with 9 replies... and no-one has noticed the title has 2009 as the year! :D

    Fixed!

I'll be in the boozer so I don't care who that smug, exceedingly stupid looking gobshíte has on his show.

Car crash tv in the making. That Brendan O Connor chap has to be the worst choice in presenter.

He's got no charisma, he's not funny and he has no likability (sp?) factor at all.

Us non-mods are not as pedantic about these things.

yeah, jaysus you think they would have pushed the boat out to try and get a couple of decent guests for the first show.. Is it true he's getting 90K for each show?

Non-mod? Didn't realise ye categorised yourself as such..

another waste of TV licence payers money (glad i'm not one of them).

You have got to be kidding me. Who gave this guy his own tv show?

    He is fcuking awful.

It's bad enough that RTE give him work as a judge because he released a comedy single once...

I doubt that people want to see him taking over from Tubridy on saturday nights.

I honestly don't know what RTE are going to do next, it's like some sort of comedy circus of errors.

Surely they must do some sort of research before they put out these shows.

Sorry that this post is kind of rant orientated, it's just that it's beyond a joke at this stage.

Agree totally. A complete a**ehole who is about as funny as genital herpes. And as for the opening line-up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:Twink:eek: and Linda Martin:eek: are being dug up for the occasion. Can it get any worse. Total car crash tv. Can't wait to read the excoriating reviews.:D

    Good Guest List: 0

    Bad Guest List: 17

I think the people have spoken.

Only because they didn't know Twink and Linda Martin are also part of the guest line up.

    TV3 and RTÉ!

I don't mind Republic of Loose but Peaches Geldof, what a terrible guest!

I would only watch if Twink and Linda were playing Russian roulette with an Uzi

If that was the sort of thing RTE were putting out, I would have no problem paying my tv license.

Get Brendan O'Connor and Pat Kenny in on the fun as well.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 913 ✭✭✭Ronan Keating

I'm sure Twink and Linda are in the back trying on their knickers as we speak.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 2,503 Mod ✭✭✭✭dambarude

I really wish they'd just put Pat Kenny back on the Late Late and move Tubridy back to Saturday. Kenny was wasted on it the Late Late, but at least wouldn't have the predicament that we now face. Of all the people they could have chosen to present the show, they decide to pick the most :mad::( of them all.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,783 ✭✭✭Hank_Jones

    Pat the plank.

    ehh no thanks.

If they were any way smart they would have been pushing Dara O'Briain to the fore when he was at RTE.

But of course no, they stick with the same dull characters that they always have.
Or else they give shows to comedians that aren't even funny.
Watching Jason Byrne really is car crash tv at its summit.

I do feel sorry for Andrew Maxwell though.
He has his moments, it's just a pity that he couldn't carry his own tv show.

It shall be a glorious night,
    An historic event.
O'Connor interviewing as Geldof gazes at the crevasse between his eyebrows,
And Twink and Linda preparing their parts backstage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭Shakyfan

Where's the "total shyte guest list" option??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 913 ✭✭✭Ronan Keating

Jim Corr is going to be on too.

It would be a nice sight to see Twink slobber over Mick Pyro while Geldof and Linda smooch behind.

Tremors is on over on SciFi Sky 205.

    ...much better than this plop.

    Ready, steady, shyte.

Oh no, he thinks he's Conan O'Brien.

    Another RTE talentless gob****e.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,238 ✭✭✭✭Diabhal Beag

This will be frighteningly ****e. The audience sound like people who buy the Star regularly.

A few stumbles/fluff ups in his opener.

WHO IS OLIVER CALLAN SUPPOSED TO BE????

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 913 ✭✭✭Ronan Keating

Brendan is OK. Better than Tubridy anyway.

This Callan fella is sh!te. He needs to feck off for a few years and then come back. I don't need to hear a crap Enda impersonation. Feck off.

    A comedian, allegedly.

As I've said before, Callan is very good at the voices but has no material.. His material is very lowest common denominator.

In fairness now, he is a good impressionist!

Leopard-skinned bint. What is she talking about......

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,783 ✭✭✭Hank_Jones

His interviewing skills really are top notch...

I thought he was a journalist, he should at least know how to ask a few questions.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

God there is soooo much potential for car crash TV here....

That's all well and good, but a moderate talent for sounding a bit like a politician while having absolutely no sense of humour hardly warrants applause.

(If it did, Enda Kenny would get standing ovations everywhere he went.)

Callan's material is rubbish. Utterly sh*te. He's simply another in the long line of Rté rent-a-guests that pop up on bargain bin shows like these in lieu of anyone who's actually interesting, entertaining, or with any actual talent.

oliver is really making a mess of himself now. he needs to dissappear. oconnors nose is a mess.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,234 ✭✭✭thetonynator

    Bad Guest List
RTE are obviously going to put the best guest list possible tonight with most high profile guests possible. Brendan o'connor not great, but maybe in time??? TBH, i think you have to give him a chance, stop complaining about him, hes only been on half an hour!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 635 ✭✭✭inabina

any guesses who else will be on? I would not rule out Anne Doyle....
