NO, not unless you have checked in baggage, so dont bring any unless you want to see it going into the bin

I don't see how it would be a problem, its not liquid of any sort.

Lash it into the bag, and don't make a deal of hiding it. Don't see why it would be stopped. If they think it's an actual explosive, they'll call the airport police to bring a dog and the saber (portable ion scanner, the one that they used to wave over people as they entered the front door!)

Has anyone actually brought a tub of it onto a plane?

I haven't been on a plane in ages so I can't remember what I can bring onto it. It could draw unnecessary attention though..

I would prefair to keep on taking it as I don't really want to go off it for a week. I might just bring some of the cheap stuff as if they throw it in the bin it won't be that big a loss....have a 5kg tub of Nutrisport whuch I never really use so might just take this for a week if I can get it on.

Can't see why there'd be a problem. Is it not available in the UK to buy, though?

Yeah it would be but I am not sure there is a tub that is small enough to go through in six days..

A lot of the gyms are trying to charge me £15 for an Induction (they say for Insurance purposes) and then I would have to pay per session.

Don't see how there'd be an issue at all.

Do you have an un-opened tub? With some kind of seal or wrapping? That way if they do give you the dodgy look, it's fully sealed and closed and you couldn't have been messing with it.

I see plenty of people bringing food onto planes that they get in the airport. Sweets, chocolates, etc. so I doubt anyone would care about a tub of protein.

The tub is a 1.2kg one and it will be half gone by Monday the 15th, am heading over for the Portsmouth and Lille matches..I will bring it on, if there is a problem with, it I will know for next time..

Its just that its a powder which might lead to problems, not a lot of people who don't take protein, actually know what it is....

Would you not just eat an extra couple of chicken breasts like a normal person??

I have to agree with the last poster.
Don't sweat over a few days mate. Chances are the gyms will sell some shakes or you could take some with you in a shaker or shakers or even ziplock bags.

Despite it being a powder and even if it was white which its not like glutamine or creatine - the boys and girls of customs are not in any way stupid and can tell the difference between a health food and a class A prohibited substance.

In keeping with the general tone of your post:

You will have no problems at all bringing a huge tub of powder in your carry on luggage. Absolutely none.

thats exactly what I was thinking, but I thought id get flamed for saying it:D

and no, you will not be able to bring it on the plane, they have pretty much the same rules for powders as they do for liquids.

Going snowboarding last week I brought a weeks protein , thats a good freezer bag of it , wrapped it in 2 freezer bags and elastic bands, didnt dawn on me that it looked like a kilo of coke until the x-ray , I was watching the bag go through and your ones eyes nearly popped out of her head, she called another guy over they whispered stuff , he picked the bag up and put it through the x-ray again . Second time it comes through I thought I better intervene so I said, "Sorry that strange shape you are looking at there is just my proten powder" ....Classic stuff, the guy goes "Oh right , thanks for that enjoy your flight" .....didnt even open the bag

I will bring the Protein onto the flight, its just good to know for whenever I travel again in the future.

Itsallabouthel, thanks for your valued opinion:rolleyes:

If you aren't big enough to have to buy two seats on that plane someone needs to slap you silly for asking this question.

    Very good.

Bring a big ass tub of talc in your carry on luggage next time you travel and see what happens.

I'd say the most worrying aspect of your journey should be how can you possibly fit a big jester hat into your bag with all that protein.

    Good man.

I'm just jiving ya, no offence meant.

ItallaboutheL was getting at the same thing. The people in the ads for protein powder laugh at the people who obsess about protein powder.

I can put my hand on my heart and tell you milk is a more effective supplement and they sell that in England.... I think.

    Good man.

bottom line, man you cant take protein powder in hand luggage. there might be a few people who say they got away with it, but those are exceptions. i managed to bring a bottle of rum on a flight before xmas, It was cheap so I was willing to risk it and i got away with it. its up to you whether you want to risk having to throw it away or not ... eat tuna and chicken, and dont worry you wont shrink in a few days :D:pac:
