No I don't agree. If someone in Ireland ran a chain of creches nationwide and one of his employees molested children and he moved that eomployee around so it happened again I guarantee he would be in jail. Anyone and everyone involved in this mess needs to pay.
If the church dealt with this like human beings at the start we wouldn't be having this discussion.
The days of saying you're religous and expecting exemption form criticism are gone. You don't just say we are all sinners because of a parable and expect me to nod my head and say I'm a sinner. Explain how we are all sinners.

If the first part can be proven of course they should be charged. I said that. I have no problem with critique however how can you be critical and yet not care... It stinks of tabloid news really.

I did not say we are sinners because of a parable, You questions the "snakes" and "adam and eve" and I answered that it was a parable and you cannot understand that concept as you are still attached to it.

As for explaining why we are all sinners.... You would not accept the answer and that is clear from your lack of understand.

All these people arguing the Pope should do Jail time, I ponder who exactly is going to 'Arrest' the Pope..The Swiss Guards!! Or are Interpol going to Storm the Vatican

Slightly off the subject I know but a question to you. Would you trust your children with a priest you didn't know in confession?

Trust is a huge thing. The church is untrustworthy in my view and I wouldn't trust them as far as I would throw them. The RCC is dying a slow death. They have been found out finally.

Jesus..it seems elvis has finally left the building.

Is it often that you go to confession in your own church and you dont know the priest...

Confession is now done in confessionals and the open because of recent changes and fears of how it would be construed... have you not been recently...

No, he will sink with the organisation. What else are they going to do, re-elect another scumbag? I profess that we simply shoulden't give a **** what the church does, as long as they suffer for their actions.

So by your logic everyone in the church is a scumbag yes...... Not very christian now is it...

While the roman catholic church is the patron of over 90% of all primary schools in the country, how they did not hand over pedophiles to the garda and how they moved them on to other towns and countries to prey on more children and ruin more lives is or should be the concern for everyone be they catholic or not.

I read about new court cases every day of rape, sexual assult and incest in this country and I used to wonder WTF was wrong with use and know I know. The RC church which was meant to be the moral compass and concious of the majority of the people seems to think such acts are fine as long as you aren't caught out and how many people did parish priests tell not to come forward when the abused went to them for advice?

Sure everyone knows that virgins get preggers

Sure of course they do...my ex GF was a virgin who mysteriously got an STD. I believe it to be a case of the immaculate infection :D

On topic: It is not just the Pope that has to go, the entire Vatican regime is just broken beyond belief. It needs vast changes. I'm not really a believer but I would never belittle anybody that does. I can see some benefit to society if religions really did act as moral guardians. But the current corrupt mess that exists is just awful.

That IMO is totally dodging the question. I mean entirely.
I think you just didn't want to answer, as the premise of 'original sin' is the answer, and that ideal is ridiculous

Fitting Pope Ratface into a sack would be both arduous and fruitless, the old man would die halfway through the proceeding leaving one with nothing more than a wrinkled corpse in a bag.

Best to box him up, that way both he and his garments may be frozen in a dignified pose for future generations to laugh at.

The answer you ask for is simple... There is no one more rightious than god.... Its that simple... We are all sinners by this defination. Do you accept this... I doubt it.

However as you mention a newborn I imagine god sees no one as being more pure than a new born child. There for I doubt that god supported the chuch when it buried unbaptised children outside grave yards.

As for ideals being ridiculous.... This implies you do not support them fine.. if i revert to my orig question

Do you feel you have the right to tell a jew what in there tradition is wrong????

Yes I seen that film as well. then there is the let he who as not sinned line and the prodical son line or indeed the devil on the mount line.

The point i would feel is that if the world was full of good men and I am sure women are included then we would still manage to find something to condem. its just human nature.

Yes, he should indeed be sacked, and the "holy" men who abused children should go to prison or be put up against the wall.

Neither scenario is likely, because the RCC has its own rules that are for its benefit, and its benefit only. They consider themselves above the law because they have both the flock and themselves convinced that a higher power decides these things.

We owe it to the future generations to get the RCC out of the schools.

What your saying is they belive in god and you dont.... this is why your thought does not count. You dont support the faith why would you care.

There are no known cases of naturally occurring mammalian parthenogenesis in the wild. However, in 1936 Gregory Goodwin Pincus reported successfully inducing parthenogenesis in a rabbit

    Yep. :D

By the way for the record. I think its a disgrace that you can see who voted what in the pole and so would not take part in such a witch hunt.

Its another side to this childish debate that does actuall piss me off.

    So what!
A person can believe that the flying spaghetti monster is their god and have faith in his noodly appendage and still know that the roman catholic church abused it's position and the trust placed in it to teacher and care for children and then did all they did cover it up, and know how wrong it is.

Doesn't matter if you are a member of the church or not, it is an atrocity and the laity needs to demand accountability from the church and those who are not in the church should be asking for the dept of justice to direct the dept of public prosecution to put together files on obstruction of justice asap.

and thank you for demonstrating the obstinacy and refusal to see sense that characterises, nay defines, the religious. Dig your own hole.

Keep up the good fight, some day you'll realise they let you down.

I made that poll, and I alone am responsible for it being public. I figured under the circumstances we should all be promoting transparency.

But if he's sacked, he'll be replaced by another pope who'll just do the same as him.

The Pope cannot be sacked, he is the appointed "Christs Vicar on Earth",
(Vicarius Fili Dei), Supposing the supreme head of the Christian Church who claims "infallibility".

Remove that man from his position and some of his fellow officers and the Hierarchy will crumble like an upside down pyramid. :D

Joey, people (generally speaking) are attacking the institution of the catholic church (and with good cause in fairness) not christianity or those who believe in god.
Equally, defending christianity and its followers but also being critical of the catholic church as an organisation, these are not mutually exclusive.

Exactly, thats how most level headed people are viewing it, at this stage it is a criminal organisation and should be stopped.

think of it this way - there's a school up the road from you, which your kids attend. the principal has been found to have hidden the fact that the majority of teachers have been systematically raping the arses of all the children in the school for the last ten years. your children were not victims, but your friend's children were.

would you like to see the principal sacked in this situation?
