Anyone at Dan Dennett last night in Dublin? I thought it was a very good talk with an engaging and good-humoured Q&A after...

Yep. The talk he gave was a bit vague and waffly -- not unlike most of his books -- but the q+a was much more fun, though I'm not sure he appreciated Brendan Burgess's comment about that "atheist gospel music" composed by some of his friends. Truly, 'twas frightful stuff. I expect the talk will go up on seminars.ie before too long, although Dennett doesn't really fit with the woo-based worldview that the website seems more comfortable with.

In addition to many fellow-skeptics, I bumped into John May (he of "Specious Nonsense" fame) but he was keeping a fairly low profile, no doubt still chastened by what happened during the Buswell's Incident.

    Anybody else at it?

My mate went. Made same comment about the music. Your man Burgess is some buzz. If he is not taking the mick out of creationists he is taking the mick out of aspects of our financial system.

My mate also said it wasn't worth 40 euro. I agree with you about his books. He'd have me falling asleep through most of it - doubt a religious person would be able to maintain their concentration ;-)

Also, I asked my mate was there many hot birds he said there was two.
Oh no - he's not Andy Gray :-)

Actually- now that you mention it....40 quid was steep but they were really taking the pi$$ with plain egg sandwiches for a fiver and sh!t coffee for 3 quid!!

I'd have said closer to 300. The room was pretty well packed.
