For Sale On-One Pompetamine Versa €800

    Colour – White
Size – Medium (Geometry in attached link)

Bike is only 8 weeks old and selling as the sizing is wrong for me and don’t want to ruin my back. I have all the receipts and it was not bought on the BTW scheme. For sale with spec as per the link. It would suit perfectly for commuting.

    http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/CBOOPOMPETVERSA/on-one-pompetamine-versa

I can post pictures if requested and if anyone has any questions please ask.

I’m based in Greystones but work in Fairview so can work out viewings if anyone interested.

    Thanks for looking

    Price drop €700.

I’ve recently added 700x28 Conti Gator Hardshells and SKS Chromoplastic mudguards that I will include with the sale.

    Hi Longford,
I'm interested in that size of frame and fork, if you want to get another size frame from on one, I'll take the old frame for a nice discount. I'm skint at the moment but could trade in a week or 2. You could also turn it into a flat bar, the flat bar shifter would set you back €30.

Thanks for the offer JonDoe but I think I'd rather sell as full bike for now before beginning to break up.

I've thought about the flat bar option also and know the shifters would work...any advice on what brake levers I should use if I was to go down that route - these compatible with current disk brakes ??

    Thanks

Any MTB V Brake levers should work as they've got more cable pull than road levers, they'll just work a little crisper.
    This shifter should work

Why would you wanna change it to a flat bar? It's lovely as it is.

    Price drop to €600

    This seems interesting.

What height are you that it's the wrong size for you?

According to the On One site it should fit me.

Any chance you could post the stack and reach measurements for the bike? They don't have them in the geometry info on the site.

Some info here if you need it

    I'm 5ft 6ins

I'm in the right range for it in theory but just feel it's a bit large in traffic - standover with constant on-off and reach is comfortable on the bars but on the hoods it is a struggle.

I could get shorter stem (or convert to flat bar as suggested earlier) but wouldn't really fix the standover issue.

D1gger, I will measure that this evening and post it up.

Thanks for the link - wouldn't have had a clue!

Would you be interested in a trade?

I have a Specialized Langster I could trade and obviously throw you a few quid also.

It's a size 54, I put riser handlebars on it so I think it would fit you fine.

    Hi Longford,

    Looks like an interesting deal.

Just deciding whether to invest €150-200 to sort out my trek which has 10k+ on it and try to keep that going or take your deal.

I'm 5 6 aswell - is it a real stretch for you - is your inside leg less that 30 inches which makes the standover an issue?

I'm not in Dublin but would organise collection etc via my brother.

D1gger, reach is coming out at 38cm and stack was 52cm.

    I hope that helps.

Velo, thanks for the offer but I'm going to hold out for cash as I need to replace the bike and have an eye on a mate's hybrid that he's selling and I know will suit me.

Hopefully this doesn't end your interest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 243 ✭✭longford76

    Fago,

I'm 29 inside leg so it is just a bit big for me - I'd prefer to be more comfortable on the bike for the amount of lights I have to stop at on my commute. The reach is fine to the bars but I have a bad back so just straining to the hoods to add to the woes.

I think it is upright hybrid and no more internet bike purchases for me...

Let me know what you think.

    Longford,

Will you have the bike in work any day this week?

I work in Dorset Street, so could meet you somewhere at some stage. I'd need to try it out for size as I'm only a small bit bigger than you. (5' 7")

I can bring it in tomorrow if that suited you?

    I'm not in on Friday...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 243 ✭✭longford76

    Hi Fago,

It's still for sale - Velo thinking about it and someone else viewing it in the morning but no offers in yet.

Would do a deal there and then.

Who else is viewing it, and why have they not posted here about it?

Any offers must be made in this thread

No you do a deal here, not "there and then"

    Off-thread dealing is not permitted

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 243 ✭✭longford76

    Sorry...

Diarmuid from here is viewing the bike in the morning.

I was trying to draw an offer from my last post on the thread. I suppose issues confirming size and the value of the bike and meant people wanted to check it out in the flesh before making an offer.

Anyway - will be fully transparent on here in future.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,981 ✭✭✭Diarmuid

No offer made. Viewing the bike tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 243 ✭✭longford76

Final price drop to €500 as need to sell to justify buying a mate's hybrid.

    Hi Longford,
I can't tell from the on-one blurb which type of rims are used on that wheelset, are they the DT Swiss TK 540's. If yes, then you can count this as an offer but if Weinmann dp18's it's a no go. (will break up bike and use wheels for a 29er, the dp18's won't take extra wide tyres)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 243 ✭✭longford76

    JonDoe,
They are Rigida DP18 Rims. It says the bike will take 700x35 tyres but I think this may be more about the bike clearance rather than the rims. Not sure how wide tyres you'd get on there - more to do with my know-how than fact.
    Cheers

Thanks Longford, did a quick lookup and they won't take the minimum 2" that I was looking for. I'm out so, €500 is a great price.

Fair enough JonDoe - good luck with your build

All discussions to take place in-thread – NO OFF-THREAD DEALING - to keep everything completely above board, and visible to all interested parties, all discussions and/or negotiations must take place in-thread. In particular there should be no PM discussion/dealing. The first person to offer the asking price in-thread gets it. The offer may be “subject to inspection”, but that can be the only caveat. In these circumstances it is permissible to exchange contact details via PM to arrange inspection. Once the inspection has been undertaken the relevant thread must be updated to confirm whether the sale is going ahead.

Sorry Beasty I didn't read the sticky before I sent the OP a PM a short while ago (at 17:08) expressing an mild interest without making an offer. I would need to look at the bike for size, condition, whether I like the hub gear, and price. The bike weight might be an issue (too heavy.)

I'll offer €500 if it is suitable.

PM sent to Kincsem to arrange checking for size etc
