    Hoss,
Just starting out here also, I have been going up around Mt. Brandon in Kilkenny the last few weekends, starting in Inistioge or Graiguenamanagh. I am still exploring/mapping out a few trails but there is plenty of fire roads, technical descents, steep hills and woods. Its a big enough area.

Brandon Hill is near Graiguenamanagh. If it's any good to you, I'm usually looking for someone to go off-road or on-road with during the week.

There are jumps in Enniskerry, Wicklow.
Not sure exactly where but they seem like cool jumps.

there are no specific mapped mtb trails that i am aware of although you could work your way along the South Leinster Way (walking trail, mostly fire road) which is signposted from Graiguenemanagh/Inistioge, there are numerous entrances to the woods, watch out for the deer and hunters

Hoss, there are a good few trails that can be done in the SE.
Carrickbyrne in Wexford, great mix of forest trail, single track and technical can be had here.
Tory Hill near Mullinavat, much the same as above but maybe not as much technical.
And parts of the South Leinster Way as mentioned above (I've a nice trail on this that starts near Listerlin, heads along the trail, drops down through Woodstock and along the river to Inistiogue, back up through Woodstock again, over Mt. Alto and back to the start.

If you would be interested in joining in on any of the above give me a PM, as there is a few of us down in the SE area who do these trails and more!

You should try Portlaw, Co Waterford, nearer to you then Ballyhoura or Wexford and as much forestry if not more then ballyhoura only you would nt have a multitude of single track, but you could kill a day there and still not cover it all. 8 miles from carrick-on-suir.A hidden gem.:D
