Apologies if this bores the hole of some people but I'm wondering if anyone knows the story about their kits.

This season they are now wearing Adidas gear.

Now I've been refereeing football for a few years n in the referees society and from leagues we have Umbro shoved down our throats. Even in college football as I know from managing all you ever hear is Umbro, Umbro Umbro. So wondering does anyone know why they refs now where Adidas.

On a side note, do the refs get all that gear free

Not in a market that they aren't dominating they wouldn't be.

I thought the ISRS were pushing that poxy O'Neills illuminous black and yellow on us?
Umbro would be a welcome change!

Are you a ref yourself? I've always gone Umbro and always had it pushed at me by the leagues and ISRS but I kinda do like that O'Neills illuminous.

They were the world Cup 06 or 10 kits, I dont think they are being used this year though. They are used by refs in Spain and Scotland at the minute anyway although Alan Kelly had the brand new Championsleague gear on on Friday night

Yes, our ISRS branch told us the O'Neills is the only one we were allowed wear . I'd like to have the optiion of the Umbro kit.

Which branch are you with? I'm sure if the FAI got wind of that there would be murder. I've the Blue and the Black EPL Referee kits. They are very nice but the Adidas kits they have are really nice, not the new champions league ones though
