Myself and the wife are thinking of going there for a few days in mid may. Can any one give us some recommendations of where to stay around/in temple bar. I'v looked at the various hotels but any feedback would be helpfull, preference for budget acc. Thanks.

Not sure of prices but Jury's Inn Christchurch is close by and looks ok - should also be reasonable compared to others of similar standard.

Friends have stayed in a few places in the middle of temple bar and all complained about the noise at night and of the street cleaners except at the Morgan but that used to be pricey.

Friends also stayed in blooms - depending on the room you can also have noise problems - fan noise from central bank or somewhere on one side, nightclub on the other. Looks of though.

Best advice: don't stay in Temple Bar. It's not pretty at night. There are plenty of hotels nearby. Jury's Christchurch is close and fairly cheap. Kinlay House is closer still and has a mix of dorms and bedrooms. Not sure about how good it is.

Another cheapish alternative might be the Capital Hotel on Pearse Street. Two mins walk from Temple Bar.

I have stayed in the Morgan and found it very good, the rooms are nice and there was not excessive noise just the usual city stuff. I also stayed in the Temple Bar Hotel and don't rate the rooms too high. The Trinity Capital Hotel is not bad either and is very close.

What sort of budget/accomodation type are you looking for OP?

I just spotted this in bargain alerts. If you go with the Jury's option it might be worth your while booking today.

For Temple Bar, The Morgan is lovely, have had many American friends stayed here who ONLY wanted Temple Bar (resistance was futile). Agree not excessive noise, ask for a high up room or one at the back. Of note, they bottom out prices at this hotel from late Wesnesday night/early Thursday mornings for that same weekend and are very good at early check-ins. Great bargains usually with those price drops :)

I love Buswells, just across from The Dail. It's very old fashioned, the opposite of the trendy Morgan, but I'm an antique lover! Great ambience, romantic..........

My other favourite is No. 31

Just provisonly booked the Arlington Temple bar Hotel which is in Lord Edward st. 3 nights B&B for €237, Jurys Inn with a 25% sale today was still coming back at €142 a night.
