bad chain suck on road bike????

    Hi all,
I am getting really bad chain suck with a SRAM red groupset which i had fitted recently. It is really bad in the 39 chain ring in the lower gears on the cassette but it also happens in the 53 chain ring but not as bad. As soon as i stop pedaling the chain loses all tension and hits off the chainstay and even falls between chainstay and wheel. When I start to put power down again the chain has to tighten and then the power goes down. Is the chain too long, do i need to take some links out of it???? Can I adjust the tension on the chain??? Is there something else I could do?

To break the chain do I need to take the power link out and replace it with a new one????(if this is what I need to do)

Any help and suggestions greatly appreciated
    thanks

check for wear on the chainrings - I had this on my MTB but not given my road bike enough abuse to wear the rings out yet. Look and see if the teeth are evenly ground or has one slope a different angle to the other.

The spring in the rear derailleur possibly? Or is there a lot of muck on the bike?

    Hi ken
    Yeah Mavic ksyrium sl wheels

No chain is always very clean, was racing last night and bike got filthy so I will clean it later and post some pics. Rear derailer is brand new too with only 500kms so spring is hardly gone.
    Thanks for all suggestions
