Reality is if we were all the same colour people would still be prejudice. It would just be in forms of class or where you're from or whatever.

It's sad. It really is a sad truth about people.... people are animals. We might not want to admit that. But people are.

In my limited encounters with black people over the years I have witnessed a small number of them pull the racist card first, even when unwarranted.

    Examples include

A post office worker accused of racism when child allowance was not received as the notification form was not completed.

A traffic warden was accused of racism as he put a ticket on a car that was parked illegally.

A local football club was accused of racism when a child was not allowed play as both membership and subs were not paid for 10 months.

A bus driver accused of racism when he asked a person to stand aside to let a mother take a buggy off the bus.

A manager of an under 10 team accused of racism when a child was subbed during a match, despite a continuous rotation of kids on and off the field during the match.

A bank worker accused of racism when a person skipped a queue, headed straight to bureau de change to do personal banking and was asked to wait in the correct queue.

A fish and chip shop owner accused of racism when he served a customer who wanted a bag of chips ahead of another customer who wanted fish with his chips. The fish wasn't ready.

As I said this is a small number over the years, so it is not a generalisation. However as these type of incidents remain in the minds of people who witness them, then all people from the same ethnic background gets associated with the incidents.
Bad people from any background makes society as a whole bad for everybody.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Could dubs be considered an ethnic group?

If yes, then we'd have to be up there with the most discriminated group..

Been listening to the anti dub stuff all my life. Seems to be the only racisim thats socially acceptable in Ireland

    Kerry jokes.
Norrie jokes (north spiders of Cork City)
    Limerick stabbing jokes.

All fairly derogatory towards minority groups of the same race, and used to discriminate against.

Yeh there are some that are aimed at the cute hooredness (is that even a word).
These are more the ilk I was thinking of.

How do you recognize a Kerryman on an oil rig?
He's the one throwing crusts of bread to the helicopters.

Have you heard about the Kerryman whose library was burned down?
Both books were destroyed, and worse still, one hadn't even been coloured in.

A Kerryman who went to London was shown great kindness by a Pakistani bus conductor.
As he stepped off the bus, he said "Thank you very much sir, and I hope your head
    gets better soon".

How do you make a Kerryman laugh on a Monday morning?
Tell him a joke on Friday evening.

A Kerryman was attacked by a robber and put up a spirited fight before parting with
his purse which contained only 15c.
"You mean to tell me you put up all that struggle, all for 15c?"
"No," said the Kerryman, "I thought you were after the E50 i've hidden in my left
    shoe".

What do you call a Kerryman on a bicycle?
    A dope peddler.

A fellow was explaining to a Kerryman how nature sometimes compensates for a
    person's deficiences.
"For example", he told him, "if a man is deaf, he may have keener sight, and if a
man is blind, he may have a very keen sense of smell".
"I think i see what you mean", said the Kerryman, "I've often noticed that if a man
has one short leg, then the other one is always a bit longer".

A Kerryman went to insure his car and paid E20 to have it insured against fire.
"For E10 more sir", said the agent, "you can insure it against theft also".
"That would be a waste of money", said the Kerryman, "who would want to steal a
    burning car?"

Have you heard about the Kerryman who drove his new car over the cliff?
He wanted to test the air-brakes.

Two Kerrymen were passing by a nudist colony, so they decided to peep in over the
wall and see what was going on inside. So one Kerryman stood on the other's
    shoulders.
"Are there men and women there?" asked the lower Kerryman.
"I can't tell", said the upper Kerryman, "they've got no clothes on".

Kerry workman to his workmate: "Don't come down that ladder, Mick. I've taken it
    away".

A Kerryman got a job as a lumberjack, but try as he might, he couldn't meet his
quota of fifty trees a day. By chance he saw an ad in a shop window for chainsaws
'guaranteed to fell 60 trees a day'. So he bought one, but the best he could manage was forty trees a day.
So he took it back to the shop and complained that there must be something wrong
    with it.
"Let me look at it", said the man in the shop. So he took the chainsaw and switched
    it on.
"What's that noise?" said the Kerryman.

A Kerryman wrote the following letter to the editor of a newspaper:
    Dear Sir,
Last week I lost my gold pocket watch, so yesterday I put in an ad in your LOST AND FOUND columns. Last night I found the watch in the trousers of
my other suit. God bless your newspaper.

What is the thinnest book in the world?
    The Kerry book of knowledge.

Canada. The first country to officially adopt Multiculturalism.
France on the other hand has no shortage of ghettos but has never been a multicultural state, the official policy of France is that it is integrationist.

If you can't see that jokes and humour can be used as a form of descrimination to dehumanise as a form of Classism, then I know for a fact that you have no idea in the world what descrimination is (claim other wise all you want there champ), as for jobs where did that come from we are talking about Origin Descrimination Jokes, nice try at fogging though.

What is this? some crude attempt to prove that kerrymen are more discriminated against more than black people? an attempt to prove that kerrymen are refused jobs because they are from Kerry? an attempt to prove that kerrymen are beaten up and viciously assaulted physically and verbally because they are from Kerry?

I don't think you actually truly under what discrimination means!

With a few other replys on this page (48).
Do you need me go go through that again I've got all day.
BTW, nice edit starting to come across as a "yes you do, no you don't" debater, descrimination happens no matter what race you are, where you are from even gender preference.

"Jokes" made on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, religion etc can be very offensive, but they do not constitute discrimination.
Discrimination occurs where an individual or group are treated less favourably in the provision of either public or private goods or services, or suffer a greater tariff when obtaining them.
Discrimination is not confined to race it can also be on the grouds of gender, sexuality, religious belief, age etc.
I hope that helps clear up the difference between offensive remarks/ and discrimination.
