How many grazing groups have you?

I seem to be running out of temporary posts and reels. There are 3 groups of calved cows, each group has a bull running with them. Then there is yearling bulls at grass, and a bunch of bulling heifers and culls together. That's 5 not counting the brother's fekkin horses. What are the rest of you doing?

    5 groups
Calved cows - about 10 per group. Used to have 3 with ~ 15 per group but ground conditions these last 12 months dictate smaller groups. 1 group scanned in calf. 1 group with the bull. 1 group for BB AI and 1 group of pedigree Limousins.

1 group of incalf heifers and dry cows on rented land this year.

No temporary fencing. We have at least 35 separate fields - many linked together with creep gates so that calves can forward graze. Quad is clocking up hours these days for checking them.

3, heifers and culls in one group then bullocks and then the pony. If I had all bullocks it would be one simple easily managed group :)

more groups indoors than out grazing and it going to remain like that for a long time. How big a group do you guys usually run, personally dont like having more than 15 together but this isnt always possible

For me if there are more than 30 cows and calves in a bunch I find it hard to herd them. On the other hand in a drought I have run everything in the place in one mob, maybe 120 - 130. Bulls would have been housed, last time I did this was in 2006.

    7!

    Milkers,
    Drycows,
    two groups of maiden heifers,
    yearling bullocks,
Incalf heifers mixed in with afew culls,
    weaned calves.

Too many ha, Certainly the last year I'll be keeping bullocks, Drycow groups shouldn't exist anymore, should have everything calved by now!, Culls will be going in a month or so in fairness, and once all the heifers are incalf they can go back as one group. At least this time of year, and with lots of grass its not too much hassle having alot of groups.
