No SNS thread for this week yet, and it's on in less than eight hours' time!!!

    large.jpg

    I'd better put that right...
    RTE TEN wrote:
Robert Plant will sing with his partner, folk star Patty Griffin, on this weekend's Saturday Night Show. Also joining host Brendan O'Connor will be former Coronation Street star Kevin Kennedy who played Curly Watts, and Love/Hate dentist Peter O'Meara.

The Grammy-winning Griffin will be accompanied by Plant on the show ahead of her gigs this month in Dublin, Cork and Dundalk in support of her new album American Kid.

Brendan will also chat to Kennedy, aka Curly Watts from Coronation Street, about his battle with booze, his road to recovery, the importance of Irish roots and his love of music.

As Love/Hate gears up to a dramatic finale this Sunday, O'Meara talks about the success of the show, why he’s now so unpopular with Irish dentists, and his life as an actor in LA working on CSI:New York and Without a Trace.

Also on the programme is actor Simon Delaney who is directing Christmas Panto Beauty and The Beast starring Jedward.

The Saturday Night Show airs on RTÉ One on Saturday at 9.50pm.

And according to the show's Facebook page, John and Edward will be on too - as will "top" designer Joanne Hynes, explaining why her latest collection is so important to her.

A curate's egg, it's fair to say. Robert and Curly ought to be great, but Joanne and her clothing, with all due respect, are surely far better suited to That Show That Won't Be Leaving The 6pm Slot On TV3 Any Time Soon. And haven't the Grimes appeared on the SNS often enough?

    Thanks for that Harvey.......:)

There seems to be loads of people on!.....Curly from Corrie can take a hike if we are going to hear about his Irish relations, thats been done to death!...I hope Brendan isn't going down the "How does it feel to be Irish" route!.......

Would love to see a solo interview with Robert Plant.....:(

(and, ahem, you forgot the puppeh........:p)

Nice work, GHG, and well spotted - It's amazing how often the Facebook page and the RTE TEN page have different guest information.

It probably means Joanne Hynes was added at the last minute, but it wouldn't kill them to update the other page.

    Still - Robert Plant!

Robert Plant and Patty Griffin might be on the show, but Kevin 'Curly' Kennedy' also fancies himself as a singer.

Here's Bulldog Nation from 2000, as performed on FBi (introduced by Vernon)

Straight in at no.70 in the UK Charts, and straight back out again :( I thought it was alright

Kevin appears to have borrowed members of EMF for drums and guitar/keyboards :D

We expect nothing than the best Roy Keane zingers for Brendan's opening!

it doesnt look too good though, judging by the intro just showcased there

Evening all, Not a bad line up tonight. It's a while since I saw Kevin Kennedy.

I think we all know why the Love/Hate dentist is unpopular with Irish dentists, but still could be interesting. I'm not that gone on CSI New York but I do like Without a Trace, I wonder what episode he was in?

I do hope that the reason Joannes new range of fashion means so much is not linked to a tragic story.

Apologies for quoting myself (from the Who Wants to be a Millionaire thread)...
    Skid X wrote: »
One of the things I remember is the actor Simon Delaney appearing as a contestant (on the regular version). He got the IR£32,000 question wrong, so he only won IR£1,000.

He was in Bachelors Walk at the same time (or possibly shortly afterwards). The writers then wrote a scene for the show where his character sang the song 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' at a Wedding. The lyrics to the song being 'Who wants to be a Millionaire - I don't ...'

I thought it was nicely done, although I don't think many people got the joke at the time.

There was a good website called 'availableforpanto' which kept track of former reality show contestants.

    I think it's gone now.

Still - Ray Quinn! You could have a lot worse.

like CJ from Eggheads. He does Panto
