I am in receipt of Jobseekers Benefit and from the beginning of May I will start on a programme of education that will see me given a stipend of €15,000 over six months. Does anyone know if as a result of receiving the stipend I will need to sign off the JB ?

    Thanks !

Will you be available for and actively work?

You mean actively seeking work ? Yes, that doesn't stop.

Wow, what is the program? I suppose it's ok so long as you're able to take a job if you get one!

Did you apply for back to education?

No it's a programme run by Enterprise Ireland on entrepreneurship. Teaches you how to set up your own business.

The safest thing to do is run it by the local social welfare office before you start the course.

I presume the course is a full time one? If it is then you would have to apply for BTEA and hope that you quality in order to continue getting a DSP payment because you would be disqualified from JSB
