Protecting clothes in washing machine

Any idea where I could pickup a "laundry bag" in Dublin (i.e. something you put delicate clothing into when placing in a washing machine). My new washing machine is bobbling up all the clothes.

I'd like to use the standard cotton wash rather than the delicate setting, and a pillow case wouldn't be large enough to hold all the clothes so a laundry bag seems to be the best solution.

    Cheers

I use separate pillow cases/laundry bags for each item or type of item, e.g. a bag for socks and one for each delicate top etc.
All my laundry bags have come from Lidl and euro shops - I've seen them quite recently in my local one, think it's called 'Euro giant' or similar.

I'd use a couple of pillow cases and a few safety pins :)

I just tie a knot in the pillow case, or use ones with a zip (1970's specials!), safety pins rust pretty quickly and if they open in the wash they could clog the filter/pipes...

My pillow cases are the "posh" ones from Arnotts, in fact they need protecting too :P

Where's your local one? I checked all the "euro" stores in Dublin city centre and they're all sold out.

They've got laundry bags for washing shoes everywhere but they don't seem to be suitable for clothes as they have a rectangular frame which may end up getting damaged on a normal wash.

Mine's in Ennis, I'll be in Galway tomorrow and could pick some up for you if they're in stock?

Exactly the same as normal, just with an extra layer of fabric protecting them from damage from zips and sharp bits :)

Do the clothes not fall out of the pillow cases?

Only if you don't close the top... you need to tie a knot in the pillow case, and don't overfill it or the stuff won't be able to move around enough so won't wash as well, and will get wrinkled.
