If I were to import a car which is 30 years + from Eastern Europe (In the EU) what would the problems be in doing that. Once I get it here will it be classified as a Classic Car and get the flat Tax Rate ? also what will be the VRT rate to change the plates? As well as that will there be any tax or the like I would have to pay on top? Sorry if i sound vague or anything just uninformed

Over 30 years is classic and gets classic tax rate. VRT is €200

Eastern Europe or the uk or anywhere in the EU for that matter it's all classed the same with regards to import duties , there are none . But there is a registration tax on car imports called vrt which is an import tax in every way except by name. Bastardos.

Which is a bit strange considering we are in the EU ... You don't pay VRT in US when you register a car from Nevada in California.
