Im thinking of buying a new holland tl 90a . However on this tractor the lift looks different . The end of the lift arms are ordinary .it has not got the quick attachment . And it has not got any hydraulic rams for the lift either. Im a bit confused about this. I have only seem this in a td 80d . It is like the tractor is a tl 90a with a td80d backend! Any opinions anyone?

Ive a tl90a with closed ball arms ie balls notremovable- not that much of an inconvience
However it does have one assistor ram for lifting

Is it electric ie power shuttle on steering or it it manual gear change

Manual gear change is a lower spec tractor with less oil flow and lift capacity which would explain no assistor rams

I've mine since new it's 2wd and has nearly 7000 hours
A real workhorse and never gave any trouble- pity I couldn't say the same for its big brother ts115a who is currently getting an engine overhaul at 7500 hrs

Manual shuttle still has one assistor ram on the TL90. Don't know about the TL90a but see no reason for NH to have removed it.

    Thanks for reply
I should mention its a uk import. The man im buying it from check the chassis number in the local new holland dealer for the vrt. Everything is ok that way. It has the orange shuttle lever under the left hand side of the steering wheel. And it has the levers for the lift on the right hand side of the drivers seat. Any lift arms i have seem on a tl 90a have the removable sockets. Is the tractor good with a 1350 gallon slurry tanker? So the lift in the tractor is not as good as your tractor. The lift is a lower spec if you know what im getting at. It surely be able to lift a bale of silage without the assistor rams.

I have been googling this tractor. One thing that shows about this tractor if a light turns on the dashboard the tractor shuts down. Is this true? Is there much electronics in the tractor?
For 90 horsepower to be able to pull 2100 gallon sounds like a good tractor to me. It must have a great engine.

    Thanks for your reply.

i wouldnt be to worried about the lack of assister ram or the standard ball ends. it would all depend on the original person buying it, most would come with the assister ram but if someone was trying to make it cheaper it could have been dropped off the list.
as for pulling a 1350 itll fly it! they are a great little puller, very torquey engine

It sound like a mightly tractor if it can pull a 2100 gallon slurry tanker.

    Thanks for all the replys.

    what year is it?
I drove a lot of TL70 and TL70As before, the 90 is just a bigger version. the pre "A" models were based on the old 90 series Fiats, and were bullet proff. The "A" model was also based of the 90 series, but I think the engine was changed due to emissions regulations.

I had lights come on, on the dash and it never stopped the tractor. If you get a red warning light, you would also get a beeping sound, but it never cut out the engine.

I wouldn't worry abut it not having the ram on the lift, there were probably 3 lift specs, no ram, 1 ram and 2 rams.

I can't fault the TL series at all, great little work horse. I have driven the same sized John deere 5200 series as well, not a patch on the TL imo.

You'll have to explain that one to me seing as their the same gearbox in both.........

There were 2 options the straight 12/12 or else the dual powered version with 24/24, but both were available wether 2 or 4wd....

I think there was a choice of two different ratio crownwheel and pinion. This was a carry over from the Fiat days.
