Unfortunately you didn't get it serviced the first time. Did you get a flue gas analysis printout after the service?

Ye that's about right. Strange. Did you ever run out of oil and bleed the burner?

Can you give us the figures from the printout?

What is the make of the boiler?
    What burner is attached?
What nozzle is in it now?
What pressure is the pump set at?

These are all part of the information that I leave with my customers after a service.

i just topped up around christmas and it was low at the time, and yes the burner had to be bleed. The stain is like black soot even though its white smoke coming from flue. Is it normal for that smoke to be coming out of flue when the boiler is on

Are you sure you bled it correctly and you didn't turn the pressure adjustment screw?

My did this after a oil fill. but oil company said nothing to do them, the oil put in is fine, had to adjust the airflow to stop smoke.

The smoke stopped that was my concern.

If you get that adjustment wrong, you could be producing dangerous levels of poisonous carbon monoxide, without a puff of smoke to be seen. Be careful.

Its a outdoor boiler, which will soon will have to be replaced anyway due to water leak.

While that may reduce the danger a little, it doesn't eliminate it. CO can still enter the house through vents, doors, windows etc.

My plumber came out and looked at the boiler again. He said that black stain built up around the flue was a build up of condensation due to the fact the heat from the boiler wasnt escaping from the flue properly. He said i will have to change the flu.
