    Okay,

Yesterday I logged into ROS to find that I had been sent a reassessment of my earnings by Revenue and they got it completely wrong and I don't know what to do.

They estimated that I had earnings in 2013 of over €16,000. €15,000 of which they claim came from PAYE work.

    As a result I received a bill for €1179.

First things first: I live in Holland. In November I sold my old laptop and accidentally lost my ROS login certificates. I received an email in January letting me know that I had a communication from Revenue on ROS and so I had to apply for new certificates. Because of this I only got to look at the notice yesterday, meaning I am now outside the 30 day appeals process.

I have proof in my P45 and in my only invoice (I was just starting up as a self employed designer at the time) for that year that I only earned €8558 in that year. I have no idea where they got the €16k figure. I can only assume someone counted my P45 twice or something.

Anyway I'm wondering what my next step should be? I sent emails to the office where the guy who made this reassessment works with a copy of my P45 and I emailed the collector general's division with the same info. I'm not sure of what phone number would be correct to call at this stage and I'd like to get this sorted as quickly as possible so the CG doesn't send it to the courts.

It's a big mess and I blame myself for not being able to log in to ROS but I'm hoping a human gets to look at the situation and see that it was an honest mistake. Any idea of my chances?

    Cheers for the help.

Why did you open a new thread today??

RING THEM - not the CGs, your local District. There's a contact locator on the revenue website.

And don't panic about being outside the 30 days; if its wrong they'll fix it.

    RING THEM.

Well because yesterday I was trying to ascertain what the problem actually was and now I'm trying to find out who exactly to ring? The CG or the local office??

Rang them. They sorted. I'm an eejit. Thanks so much for the instructions.
