Was in garage yesterday and everytime you asked anything it was fired back about the Audi 110 exacting test on there Audi Approved used cars. I have checked everywhere and can't find out what exactly is checked on this test?

Are the 110 items actually proper checks or are half of them stuff you would do anyway? e.g. checking there is water in the wipers etc

Also it is 110 in Ireland and 145 in UK? seems a bit funny

I bought one of these used Audis in Galway last year, the 110 thing is a sales pitch IMHO. They knew very little about the car they were selling... I had it independently assessed and they promised to do a list of things my dealer had found..the biggest issue was a dodgy paint job which they never addressed, although they tried to hood wink me on it three times. I eventually demanded they take the car back. I was down 1200+ for my Audi experience..Audi themselves were positively rude when I went to them with issue.

    Avoid!!

How old was the car? Any more details on it? Was it purchased from an official Audi dealer?

So bought the car and waited 2 weeks for delivery to get a few things fixed and get the 110 exacting check done. Not impressed at all....below issues

Chip out of windscreen which I pointed out at test drive is still there
Stain on door which was supposed to be fixed, still there

No idea of any of the above are parting of the test but when I pointed out at test drive I was just told it would be covered in the exacting checks

    More alarming.....

When car is idling there is a shaking coming from engine which you can feel in seat
Same shaking is rattling the gear stick, steering etc, stops once you drive off
Huge rattle in steering wheel once you go over 100 kmph

The shaking was not there when I test drove so instead of fixing anything the checks has caused to car to feel worse..

Not sure why I paid extra to buy from Audi garage.....

I got a Audi A4 which turned out to be clocked and had done 150k miles and it was smoother in neutral and to drive over 100km....

The car was also picked up half way between Dublin & garage, it was supposed to be brought to Dublin on lorry. Ended up they said they would meet us half way, I said no problem. Got to meeting point and it was some young lad from the garage who drove the car up????? no lorry no nothing.....

I would have rejected the car until they sorted all these things out. It's going to be alot more difficult now getting the garage to fix these things once money has changed hands. The time to get these things addressed is before handing over money.

I'm not going to go into specifics, but the fact that I could contact Audi about my experience should allow the details to be inferred.

Sorry to hear about your experience Big Nelly - I had to threaten legal action, ring the finance company, and contact the dealer's HQ before I got any satisfaction. I refused to accept the car each time I felt the work was sub-standard.

Just to get back on this, I contacted the sales guy. According to him he was not aware that windscreen etc was not fixed. I have to take him at his word and a number of friends have purchased off him and have said he is very good so I am waiting.

I am waiting for what will happen next, I do love the car but I think the garage are used to the Irish attitude of "ahh sure it is ok", I am a sales person as well and I always make sure my customer get the best service etc and I look for the same.

If this is standard in Germany/UK etc then why should we expect less in Ireland?

One question, do you actually get a document from Audi to say what was tested? on this supposed 110 exacting test?

Hiya, No I got nothing like that - just a salesman smile and a hand shake....
