    Hi all,

Thinking of letting 50acres of good permanent pasture. What would it make it the current market per acre?

Location in Meath, also not land for tillage. Perfect for grazing or silage cutting.

Your late in the season for letting but I'd say anything round 150-200 if for grazing.

Land with maps is making 300 to 400/acres in Northeast

You might be better off asking your local auctioneer, big variation of prices here.

In fairness I'm hearing these prices but I've yet to meet anyone paying them. I do work for a couple of auctioneers and 150-200 is the run of it and they're all in the north east.

I have heard of 400 down my way - but I suspect there is a large variation.

From what I can see, it depends on a whole load o factors - land quality, location, neighbours, farming type being conducted in the area, age profile of farmers in the area, SFP of people in the area, if neighbours dont get on and dont want to see someone else get the place ;)

An auctioneer will give a better idea of prices...

I wouldn't believe anything an auctioneer would tell me-A property letting register might give a truer picture, if one existed for renting land

True, but if we all waited for a register to be created for telling us everything, we might be waiting a long time :)

So lets say an auctioneer specialising in letting, one that will let the land for you. They should know, as its their business...

But as with everything - there are good and bad in this profession too...

Well he has nothing to gain by telling you that land is making €300 an acre, and than when you give it to him, he can only get €160.
Some MIGHT inflate the possible price to prevent you going to the opposition Auctioneer down the road, but are immediately found out to be talking bollox.

Based in north meath and just rented 50 acres. Block 1 30 acres on a 5 year lease 150. Block two 20 acres, silage ground 180 for the year. South of Kells, you will get more. Go to Raymond Potterton, he has the contacts and will sort you out. Alternatively if you are in the north of the county PM me!
