I had links posted, just removed them 10 minutes ago.

The one in the OP is either an xc5 clone or an xc5-1 clone. Seeing as it doesn't mention anything about being an improved version, it may be the older version (which you don't want).

Search syma xc5-1 clone and you should find a few. Namely the FY326 or one of the Bayang Toys models.

Just make sure it's really only 0.9kg, as drones that are 1kg or more need to be registered with the IAA https://www.iaa.ie/general-aviation/drones/drone-registration .

Pretty sure that's the total shipping weight, not flying.

Yep, but when put into Euros it seems a bit pricey (but works out roughly the same).
They can be bought for less than €20 without Camera

This would be a better price (Considered a better version and taking into account it's Amazon) - The Camera is only around €10 but again, using Amazon - Decent Price

Any other suggestions for a cheap drone?
That one on Amazon doesn't deliver to Ireland.

Sign up for Parcel Motel and you can get it shipped to the North.

They appear quite often on other sites, Banggood and Allbuy would be the better of a terrible bunch from China.

All the unmentionables would also have one possibly cheaper (although allbuy will try a pricematch), but buy from them and expect delays or no comeback if it stops working after a week.

Banggood or Hobbyking are quite good and have a fair amount of various sizes and types of quadcopters/multirotars

These are all a POS, you're just throwing money away unless you're spending 100s.

    Hardly throwing away €20...

Especially if it's their first drone, and learning on it.

    P.S. Don't buy from Gearbest.

Exactly. More of a bargain to learn to fly on a €20 drone, than to blow a few hundred on a DJI Phantom and wreck it on your first go!

Or watch it fly off and never return which happens very regularly

That there is the genius of drones! One flies off and what better way to search for it than buy another drone.

I've been using the hubsan x4 for the last few weeks and find it great craic. They're 35 pounds on Amazon but can be bought cheaper from China. Serious fun bringing it outside. Crashed it properly yesterday and it's still in good nick, one of the motors is running a bit slower since but can be replaced easily. The camera on it is good in daylight. You get some amazing footage even by putting it straight up in the air really high

    Hi Folks,

I have a few questions some of you may be able to help me with.

I am looking to get a drone to take some videos of my local area/countryside.

Having no current experience what ones would you guys recommend? I am willing to pay 200 - 250 but want to have the full set up including camera etc for that.

    Cheers guys,
    NBD

If you have no current experience, I would recommend buying a cheaper one first to practice flying with.

There are thousands of drones ranging in price.
I have looked, but can't see any dedicated drone forum here.
    I think you'd get better advice here - http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/index.php

As suggested get a cheap one to learn on.

I highly recommend the JJRC 1000

    So you need JJRC quad
    http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_165871.html

Transmitter ( this transmitter is better than stock)
    http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters-parts/pp_166393.html

    Batteries
    http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopter-parts/pp_331372.html

    Spare props
    http://www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopter-parts/pp_212537.html

    All free shipping
so 40 -45 euro you have a great setup. and you can replace quad and minimal cost with out the need for transmitter etc.
sure you would be as well off getting 2 quads in case one gets out of your control and you loose it

    A more reliable store here - http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-RC-Quadcopters-c-1848.html

If you have any issues with the product, they will help and also send out replacement parts. Also, their support is very quick.

Only got a small few items from banggood which were fine. got a full refund from gearbest when a quad went mad after only a few flights..... and i have no more to say on it.

Haven't heard of anyone having any significant issues with Banggood, ever. And their customer support is quite good.

I can point to hundreds of forum threads, blogs, FB posts, (Their own FB page constantly removes complaints), tweets etc.. saying how bad Gearbest are.
Review sites have even had to put up headers stating that Gearbest were flooding reviews on their sites, in their favour.

Couldn't recommend a company like that to anyone.

Notoriously bad support, with few exceptions. Reluctant to give refund (again, with few exceptions), not adhering to EU laws when using their EU Warehouse etc..

The list is far too big.

I think they're fine. I've used them for quite a good few things, from e-cigs to phones, only when they are actually cheaper than other sites though, It's rare the sales are really sales these days.

The best advice when dealing with them imo is never pre order anything and always take note of the handling time before putting in an order.
