Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

Tempted to get it from three today on the chance its unlocked. Anyone get one from them yet? Or any of the other carriers?

Samsung never sent me the VR headset even though i ordered it before 10th March like their website said. When i queried it this morning they basically told me tough sh1t.

Got a reply saying I was quite high in the queue but if I wanted to cancel I could. No good being high in the queue and having to wait another two weeks

Got reply saying allowed 3 days for refund to hit card. Be very happy if I had the refund by the end of the week

Just got an email saying the refund has now been done and they only found out from Samsung at 8am this morning which I find hard to believe.

So Meteor told me in the "Talk to" forums, on their own forums, on twitter and in two shops, that you couldn't pre-order the S7 (Edge or otherwise). On their website they offered no pre-order functionality.

On the phone to the loyalty team just now and I am informed that the S7 Edge is out of stock because pre-orders took the allocation.

Won't let me order the black S7edge on the samsung site, saying it's sold out.

Neither Bray nor Dundrum had it when I rang (they have the S7 in white and black, but no edge).

Meteor are now telling me the 'register your interest' link on their site was the defacto pre-order form and despite that link not existing in the afternoon on the 22nd, and then me seeing it on the 23rd and registering my interest at 10am, I still missed whatever cut off they had for offering the phone as a pre-order.

I was on to them via twitter, boards.ie and their own forums the moment the phone was announced and at no point did any of their customer care team inform me I could pre-order - in fact they told me there was no pre-order.

Very disappointing from Meteor.

I have an S7 Edge from Carphone Warehouse, and while I havent checked if its unlocked or not yet, it has a 3 bootscreen and software from 3 preinstalled, so the odds of them being unlocked seems pretty slim.

Yay, just got a mail from AddressPal to say my item is ready for collection. Pre-ordered though the Samsung UK store and was shipped to UK address on the 8th. Wasn't expecting it to get to Ireland so quickly so happy out.

Parcelforce eventually located my Samsung UK parcel and it's marked as out for delivery today. Once DPD have it in their hands I can rest. :pac:

Hopefully will have it Monday, or even tomorrow if I can collect it in the morning possibly.

I'm sure it was a big worry for you.

Kinda stuck now until the money comes back from unlocked mobiles. Even when it arrives back it's goin to be a pain trying to get a sim free version.

Such hassle for a phone.

Parcelforce were *beyond* useless, so was a bit worried alright. A few days delay but at least its on the way now.

Hope you get sorted shortly. If you paid by Revolut, refunds usually come back quite quickly.

Has anyone with the S7 Edge managed to get an unlock code for it yet? Mine is locked to vodafone.

Been trying since Tuesday to get a code, but nowhere can provide one yet.

So i went in looking to pick up the S7 today on Pay As You Go.

First shop I went to was Carphone Warehouse. They said the phone will not be available on pay as you go for at least a month.

Second shop I went to was Eir/Meteor. They said the phone will not be available on pay as you go for at least 2 months. Maybe longer. At which point they tried to push their bill pay plans. No thanks.

Third shop i went to was Three. They had the phone in stock on pay as you go and whats more they had a Gear VR Headset to give me too. Any their pay as you go plan aint bad either. 20 euro a month for basically unlimited data, call and texts. So I snapped up the phone for 659.99. Happy Days:D

I can later on - Its currently in the boot of my car until I get home after work. Gonna be a long day.

I think all their 'pre-orders' are like that. I pre-registered and only got an email an hour ago to say they are on sale. Had a look at the prices, not great, but there are 5 edge ones left according to the website.

I tired and emobile sim in my s7 edge from three. It asked for an unlock code so seems to be network locked

Prices up on Argos.ie now.

Flat one is €777 and the edge is €872. I think that's about €40/50 more than Amazon, not the worst.

Edit: Edge version not in stock anywhere in either colour.
