Just got an email saying that I'm being invited to attend an interview next Saturday in Dublin. Anyone else get one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38 aomh

Came 30 in Laois, just wondering what my chances are, first time applying so don't know. If I get in, is it a case of once your in, your in or do you have to keep applying once your time is up for the next position

Yep, heading up myself as well. Third time going so its very informal and quick in fairness. Just a brief discussion on work history and abilities from what i remember.

I sure hope not! It is happening a lot quicker than last year though. I got a 12 week summer contract on the 2015 campaign so I'm hoping for something similar.

Did any one get the results of there 2nd location?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 190 ✭✭Tommo3434343

I got a ranking of 240 last year for Dublin with no TCO experience and I got a ranking of 540 for Dublin this year with a three months of TCO experience. What a ridiculous recruitment system.

Got called for interview next Saturday also, 11.30.
And no second location results for me yet

Mine is at 9.30 which I'm not looking forward to :( If it gets me a job though, I suppose I can't complain!

Just out of interest are all interviews held in Dublin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,968 ✭✭✭Conall Cernach

The invite says I should take "1 Recent Work Reference. (Original and Photocopy)" with me. Does that mean I have to get m current boss to write a letter saying how great I am?

If I remember last year's campaign correctly, there were interviews in Cork and possibly Galway as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 Delealli20

I sent the TCO Unit an email a few days ago asking what number they reached on the panel for my county last year and what departments generally took on temporary staff. The reply was very helpful so I'd advise anyone with similar queries to drop them an email too.

    Doubt it

Got 12 for Wexford. Happy enough with that. Anyone from wexford know of where tcos are taken on. Revenue? Dept. of Ag? Social Welfare?

I'm in top 10. I was out in Ag last year but all the ones you mentioned take on TCOs. I think Revenue take first ones

Got 30 for Roscommon, anyone know how many they took on last year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1 BlackBanana

Got high 30's for Tipperary, does anyone know from last year is this good or not? (It's my first time applying) Also what did others get for Tipperary?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 66 ✭✭babygirl30

I knew a girl that worked in DSP Roscommon last year and she told me they didn't take on any TCO's last year. As I am from Roscommon myself I was considering my options and where was best to apply to so lucky enough I choose Longford and succeeded in getting a 15 week contract last summer.

Got placed 94 in Longford....so fingers crossed!
I had checked with them in Jan to see what stage last years panel was at and they said they had interviewed up to the 150's but they didn't say how many had got jobs?

They had taken on approx. 70 during the summer months that I was there last year. I'm a similar ranking to yourself so fingers crossed for us both :-)

Is the lower the number good or bad

It's good, the lower the number the higher the chance you'll be called for interview.

Placed in the top 5 for Roscommon, am up for interview on the 8th. This will be my third TCO contract in Roscommon, and I'm through all the stages for the permanent positions. Pain in the hoo-ha having to do another interview, despite having the permanent one done only a couple of months ago!

Are all interviews on Saturday 9th? Or do some of you have interviews on the Friday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 611 ✭✭✭claregal1

Hi Guys - ranked 7th in Clare this year and have interview Sat 9th of April. Does anyone knownif the HSE are involved in the recruitment process with the 2016 TCO panel . Last year I was in the 400 Mark for Limerick and got called for Revenue for a 6th mth contract but turned it down as I had went back to study . Going by previous experience it seems the higher up the list you are the shorter the contracts ? Don't really fancy a 13 week term time contract .

In 2012 I was ranked 25 in Clare with no TCO or office experience at all . Last year I placed in the 400 Mark for Limerick with 2 years TCO experience - this year 7th in Clare - really don't know how they do the marking at all !!!!

Experience doesn't come into it at all as I found out this year. My ranking this year was twice as bad as last year when I had no experience even though I now have three months experience.

Yeah I don't know how they do the marking . I had two years down as a TCO last year and ranked really low . Was very surprised that I was as high up the list this year considering I did so bad the previous year.
